The current astrological climate is so tense that the financial equilibrium is at stake, to say the least. The global economy has come to a great, unprecedented stall. This does not necessarily involve violent predictions which foresee the worst, unimaginable economic scenarios, but it simply reminds us that whatever crisis ALREADY going on in this world is of “historic” importance.
The International Monetary Fund’s Managing Director, Kristalina Georgieva, has recently addressed the current economic situation as a period of “Great Reset“; the current situation, she says, is demanding that the most wealthy nations change their course and hopefully help shrink the great divide among different countries that has been rising throughout the last months.
Even in the 21st century, a pandemic has had the absolute power to shake the global economy so badly that we all risk witnessing an utter dismantlement of the global equilibrium. This does not only affect the economic sphere, but it can also lead to military and nationalistic defensiveness or offensiveness. The situation is indeed pretty grim during this Capricornian phase of historic reassessment.
Where does all this destabilizing power come from? Is it really a mere effect of the so-blamed “COVID-19” which, after all, still has to be thoroughly studied, amidst multilateral claims about its questionable danger for those with no underlying medical conditions? Let’s look at this whole situation from a purely astrological perspective, as we try to search for objectiveness during a time which is RULED by inconsistency and multilateral interests.
The current major influence, as explained in “2020 – An Extraordinary Turning Point“, is the concomitant start of two slow planetary cycles in the sign of Capricorn: Saturn-Pluto and Jupiter-Pluto. As specified already, the massive imbalance of the zodiacal panorama towards Earthy Capricorn has evidently resulted in the onset unprecedented challenges which have largely affected the global business. Only one Saturn-Pluto conjunction occurred in January this year, but this does not mean that its influence would just peak at that time. In fact, with astrological transits, we generally have to consider obs simply because they serve as a practical tool for the astrologer in determining periods of intense activity; however, if we look at the current situation in cyclical terms, these major conjunctions in Capricorn have just signaled the start of a long period of change whose effects will remain with us for many years. As specified by the IMF, this is a period of Great Reset; a definition which I find so conversant with the long-term truth that it seems to have been coined in astrological fashion.
The 2020 Archetypal War
Each new cycle brings as a new promise, and not only a temporary crisis; the difference here is that the crisis is so profound because of the importance of those planets involved. Experienced astrologers know that there are inherent differences among each single planetary cycle. In other words, there is a “natural hierarchy” at play, no matter how in times of “wokeness” everybody follows the current trends and starts thinking in egalitarian terms. This is evident because even in the 21st century, social, racial and religious issues unfortunately stain our society in often outrageous ways. What the timeless wisdom of astrological thought can teach us here is that humanity finds growth only through honoring and respecting such differences. The important fact to keep in mind here is that no alignment of Saturn and Pluto ever feels as a “peaceful walk in Central Park”.
As an example, let’s consider the case of a common person born under a tight Sun-Neptune opposition. Here the astrologer identifies an individual predisposition which involves surrender and empathy. However, not everyone born under such a configuration is able to fulfill the “utopian and spiritual” promises of Neptune, because of social, financial and educational pressures which influence the individual since early childhood. This is the main factor that often gives natal Neptunian configurations a “deceptive” and “negative” reputation. An individual’s downfall emerges from the inability to cope with inner demands – which set him apart from the rest of society – which are often opposite to modern trends. The latter are commonly aimed at promoting self-establishment through financial, self-centered achievement. The inner, and often unconscious, attempt at “ignoring” the differences which make each individual on Earth uniquely gifted for his own unique life, leads to very troubled grounds indeed. If you name this hypothetical individual “Richard Nixon“, you find out how Sun-Neptune configurations are also connected with scandals; a typical, yet not necessary, fact in case the person carrying that natal aspect becomes a prominent political figure and decides to suppress his innate predisposition towards non-individualistic endeavors.
Going back to our financial outlook for this year, no matter how “optimistic” and “fair-minded” we want to be, we will always stumble upon the STILL ONGOING Pluto-Saturn-Jupiter astrological dance. One may wonder, why have these times had different repercussions on the various States and Organizations? The answer lies, at least partly, in how the conjunctions have affected national charts.

An outstanding influence is being exerted, first and foremost, on the United Nations‘ foundation chart. The October 24th 1945 chart shows a Mars-Saturn conjunction in Cancer. Such configuration is indicative of the use of organized force which, combined with the remarkable Venus-Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune Stellium in Libra, speaks of “peacekeeping“. This chart is strongly equipped with two starkly opposing configurations, one being highly “disciplined” and “protective” and the other exuding “diplomacy”, “redeeming qualities” and “utopianism”.
The current congregation of heavy planets in Capricorn is intensely and repeatedly activating the Mars-Saturn conjunction in Cancer. This indication alone, which involves a huge and prolonged intensification of pressure on the UN’s chart, is suggestive of heightened tensions which definitely undermine the fighting spirit and structure of an international organization which claims to promote peace and prosperity. Obviously, considering that 23-24 degrees Cardinal are emphasized in many important charts, we understand why the current situation has simultaneously affected various political, social and financial organizations.

Italy has been in the news quite a lot during the past months. Even if some simplistic astrological claims have associated the Italian Republic’s Gemini Sun with “lung-related problems”, the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto influence has played an important role on the country’s violent involvement with the pandemic. By the time Mars joined the major brigade in Capricorn, Italy and other countries started off with an unprecedented wave of “global lock-down”. The chart of the Italian Republic shows a Venus-Saturn conjunction in Cancer, across 21-23 degrees. It goes without saying that the unexpected dismemberment of social and emotional equilibrium within the country was to undergo immense changes. Those changes have actually just begun because, as Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto will retrograde towards another close opposition to those very degrees, the tension will undoubtedly escalate again. Slow transits to heavy planets are IMMENSELY significant in mundane astrology.
It is a common knowledge that when the Sun or a “timing” planet like Mars and Mercury, join an ongoing astrological struggle between slow-moving planets, the issues which have been brewing thus far eventually become manifest in the world of form.
Saturn and Pluto formed an exact conjunction in January, but it was not until Mars joined in that the whole world got alarmed. Simply, Mars ignited an ongoing planetary pressure which had been powerfully building up over the course of months. Coincidentally, with the Lunar Nodes transiting towards the early degrees of Cancer/Capricorn, the planetary siege came at a time when recent eclipses were still actively significant in the same area of the zodiac. This further explains why the transit of Mars through Capricorn earlier this year coincided with the fast-paced dismantlement of freedom and the onset of widespread fear.

On the economic side, it is quite interesting to take a look at the IMF establishment chart, cast for December 27th 1945. The chart shows a massive Jupiter-Saturn square across the same Cardinal degrees, accompanied by Mars, Chiron and the Moon. This complex configuration brings great focus on financially-oriented Jupiter; however, like the United Nations’ chart, it nonetheless carries the same protective, conservatory and tenacious Mars-Saturn conjunction in Cancer. The current buildup of planets in Capricorn is heavily challenging the equilibrium of this chart as well, which inherently carries an intensely charged and complex square whose destabilization can cause real financial trouble around the world.

The New York Stock Exchange was founded in 1792 and it still remains the leading Stock Exchange in the world. The global financial scenario rattles when this chart is heavily influenced by transits, directions and progressions. Once again, we find a significant configuration which spans across the third decanate of Cardinal signs, In this case we find a tight Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Libra opposing both Saturn and the Moon in Aries. Regardless of the precision of the Moon’s position, given the lack of an official and accurate time for this old chart, an inherent complex within this chart is being powerfully activated during these months. The Jupiter-Neptune conjunction perfectly matches the volatile, yet visionary, force which animates the world’s leading stock exchange. Immense quantities of wealth are circulated through speculative action in one of the oldest trading floors in the world. Saturn in opposition enhances the ability to count on fierce competition and durability. Here we find a slight difference, as Saturn and Neptune are placed respectively in the 26th and 27th degrees of their signs. This might describe the expectable “delayed backlash” which the so far single-wave pandemic may exert on the stock market. This implies that when the inner planets, as well as the Sun, will align with the latter part of any Cardinal signs, at a time when Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto still remain close to each other in Capricorn, all the issues which seem to have partly subdued will most likely reemerge under a new, and perhaps, more aggressive fashion. Change comes in waves, as these degrees will get activated again and again, joining the ongoing dance that is threatening the business-oriented realm of Capricornian conservatism. In this regard, it is worth noting the date of July 20th. On that day a heavily loaded New Moon will fall at 28Cancer27, in tight opposition to retrograde Saturn, which will have reentered Capricorn by then. The four weeks which follow will probably increase volatility in the global financial scene, most likely due to important governmental actions which could be announced by the leading nations.
There seems to be a far deeper entanglement than imagined here, which goes way beyond the pandemic. The global media has been obviously prospering from their suffocating coverage of the COVID-19 craziness which, in its tragedy, has definitely proven a good way of enhancing mediatic activity and, for some, propaganda. In the continuous shifts which the global scene is experiencing, the focus is now directed almost entirely to the ongoing violence which is marring the USA. Who knows what will come next, in a year which, after all, has deeply affected the poorest nations way more than those ones which can afford to raise the winds of warfare.
