After months of unprecedented restrictions and widespread fears, we are carefully but steadily treading towards a new age. As explained in recent articles, an upsurge of Aquarian energy will be significant from December 2020 onward. This is not to say that all problems will magically disappear, but simply that typically ‘Aquarian’ elements will dominate the global scenario throughout the next few years.
What is Aquarius all about?
For those who haven’t read my previous articles, I would like to offer a quick summary of the Aquarian realm feels like.
Aquarius deals with ideologies of a humanitarian type, but first and foremost it demands FREEDOM. Freedom of thought, speech, religion, etc. Those are the themes which the world is likely to vehemently start fighting for, as both Jupiter and Saturn enter this Airy sign in December.
Year 2020, with its Capricornian impasse and unnerving power-grip, has taught us so much about the preciousness of freedom. Everything often appears quite dull and unemotional when we look through Capricornian lenses. That’s not because this sign is ‘worse’ than any other one – in fact, the zodiac as a whole represents the totality of human experience. Today’s underlying issue (or blessing) is that three heavy planets have been conjunct in this very sign for almost a year. As specified in other articles, this has unearthed all those flaws which have been ruling societal systems at large. The global impasse has proved to be a blessing in disguise, because it brought to our attention all that constitutes ‘restriction’ and ‘blockage’. Not only has this occurred on a collective level, but also in each individual life. Depending on the House of one’s natal chart where the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto conjunction has fallen, a specific area of personal life is likely to appear ‘messed up’ right now. That mess actually constitutes the building ground from which to start anew.
After a long period in which deep Capricornian ‘conservatism’ and ‘traditionalism’ have been heavily exposed, a great awakening lies ahead. This is not an overestimation at all, we shall see very soon
In such an ideologically divided world, what is ‘conservatism’? I’d say there is no clear answer to that. It is obvious that egalitarian ideals are rightfully powerful these days. On the other hand, there are people who claim that today’s world sickness is not primarily represented by sexism, racial differences and so on, but by the workings of an Establishment which deceitfully thrives on such matters. So many names are being thrown against one another these days. Both ‘neo-socialists’ and ‘conspiracy theorists’ claim to uphold the truth, but hardly can we see a glimpse of genuine thought in this world. Perhaps, after such a Plutonian-Saturnian nightmare, society can hardly accept the fact that ‘rational, fair understanding’ is rising so strongly. Remember, ‘freedom’ is going to be the main theme of 2021/2022. Related events will be all over the news.
In a world ruled by fear, uncertainty and sorrow, an agonizing economy struggles to see far ahead, and the people wholeheartedly wait for a change. What does ‘freedom’ actually mean in such a confused scenario? Is freedom represented by the breakdown of all recently-imposed boundaries or the unified adherence to those? Each one of us has his own idea, obviously. That is why it is actually hard to say what could actually be best for the future of humanity right now. No matter if one is an obtusely skeptical science-minded individual or a self-disillusioned guru-seeker. It is pointless to take sides politically when looking at cosmic configurations. Politics is man-made. Instead, the cosmic energies speak to the Soul!
What astrology can tell is that we will be asking for freedom, and quite powerfully. Saturn and Uranus will be at odds with each other for a couple of years (2021/2022), so let’s just be prepared for the climax of social resistance to what represents the ‘new world’. The Saturn-Uranus cycle is akin to the cyclical building-disintegration process of society. This means that in sync with its ebbs and flows, humanity is seen to reinforce structures or renovate. We are in for a period of hopefully constructive ‘exploration’ of ‘new life’.
Is that new life all about never-ending, widely-accepted COVID measures?
Is it about getting back to our ‘previous life’?
Who knows, it’s too early to say…
Given that the American Election seems to be pivotal for the direction this world might be taking in the near future, it may be quite insightful to look at the psychological features described within the birth charts of the two most popular political contenders of these times.
It seems like the country is seeing two Presidents at once. Considering the obvious level of polarization and ideological fuss, a good astrologer should probably try and identify the underlying patterns at play. What is actually generating such an extraordinary level of ideological polarization all around the world, and not only within the country concerned?
A quick consideration about both contenders’ 10th Houses might prove quite insightful.
Biden’s chart shows Neptune in Libra within the 10th House, forming soft aspects with both the Sun-Mercury-Venus cluster in Scorpio in the 12th and the descending Saturn-Uranus conjunction. Neptune is obviously a prominent feature of Biden’s chart, especially when it comes to his popularity. With the utmost clarity, we can see a Neptunian manifestation across his campaign. For those who have some astrological experience, it probably seems quite clear why he is widely accepted as a kind of ‘messiah’. Biden’s role is that of the ‘redeemer’ as of now. It is important to remember that Neptune is currently transiting across his natal IC, enhancing such archetype in his life. Neptune is known for its glamorous, messianic, redeeming, and often scandalous signature. Oftentimes a very thin, indistinguishable line separates ‘altruism’ from ‘deception’. In following his purest dreams of ideal well-being, the messiah oftentimes becomes the architect of his own downfall. This is pure astrological theory, and it goes away from any political consideration. Biden’s chart shows a lot of ‘hidden’ content, with both the 12th and 8th houses being occupied by significant planets. This does NOT mean he carries a negative chart, simply because nothing is negative in astrology. Such features should just drive the psychologically-inclined astrologer towards a specific question: is Biden conscious enough to positively utilize all the hardly-manageable energies he carries within? Neptune connects with the Descending Saturn-Uranus conjunction, so his close collaborators have access to his ‘holy grail’ of messianic redemption. How much can we trust his connections? Biden is able to use his relationships as a way to Neptunian success; that may literally indicate proneness to being utilized by others. We know he’s not been going through an easy life at all, as it would seem obvious with such a chart. Would he use such knowledge in favor of the collective? Plutonic charts may carry a great deal of manipulative power, and this needs to be taken into account. It is obvious that this world needs to take care of its wounds right now, and it has been said that he can bring that ‘healing’. Maybe, but it’s hard to believe. Anyway, it is not this article’s purpose to answer that question. Interestingly, the word ‘healing’ is often hooked onto people like Biden, who was born under a prominent Sun-Chiron aspect. However, the story may not be as simple as it seems. Remember, the boundary between bliss and disappointment is always thin, especially when dealing with ‘messiahs’ and ‘gurus’ of any historical age. This may be an irritating statement, but it constitutes a psychologically meaningful question which may determine the direction of humanity’s future path.
Trump’s chart shows a very different picture. Obviously, it is archetypally opposite. The stark difference between those two personalities determines the social polarization which is consuming the world at large. Trump is a Uranian individual. His 10th House hosts a flamboyant Sun-Uranus-North Node conjunction in Gemini. His reputation is linked to changeability, irrationality and the breaking of existing boundaries. With this configuration, genius is often mixed with madness, activism goes along with anarchism, speech may enter dangerous grounds, words may be unrestrained. He was born under a Lunar Eclipse, so he is a master in dividing people. Sun-Moon natal oppositions represent the ultimate divisive force in a person’s life. He is driven by discord, but the fundamental principle here is Uranian. His mission is to break from the past. It is a Uranian person’s ultimate ‘goal’ to be rejected and labeled. He is playing the role of the ‘outsider’.
Whether the ideals promoted by either contender are ‘good’ or ‘bad’ is something which will be clearly understood years, or maybe decades, into the future.
It is obvious that history is really in the making, under the interesting confrontation between these two starkly different contenders. As specified already, the upcoming planetary transits are likely to bring a lot of interesting news.
Now that both ends of the collective psychological spectrum are clear, who seems to represent the revolutionary future suggested by the upcoming cosmic configurations? As specified in previous articles, the planetary scenario of the next few weeks promises to bring unexpected developments.
This is good food for thought, I believe.
