King Charles III appears, at least according to the media, as an unusual and partially unpopular figure, a monarch in a difficult spot, bridging a solid past and an uncertain future. In fact, last year his accession occurred under the transit of Chiron over his natal Midheaven and the alignment of the progressed MC with his natal Mars-Uranus opposition.
He was born under a preponderant 10th House Moon in Taurus, symbol of a hugely archetypal Mother who acted as a pillar for him. Queen Elizabeth II’s is a difficult image to replace, especially because their unique mother-son Sun-Moon synastry is a narrative that speaks of him primarily as the Queen’s Son, rather than the Heir’s Father.
The coronation chart (12:02 pm) shows typical royal significators: Leo rising, the chart ruler in the 10th, both Jupiter and the North Node angular. The Water Grand Trine in Water Houses probably adds some fluidity and depth.
Two important considerations:
1) the Regressed Moon was on a partile opposition to the Sun when the Queen died, nine months ago. That was consequentially the moment of Charles’ accession to the throne. Every event chart embeds a time-based narrative, which appears most obviously through the movements of the Progressed Luminaries.
2) the Progressed Sun (chart ruler and typical indicator of the ‘monarch’), will be applying to a conjunction with Uranus. By 2026 the implications of such an astrological statement will be revealed.
Will his reign head into a major turning point? Of what type? Uranus subverts, shocks, revolutionises and awakens.
Too early to know.
This will coincide with the entrance of Saturn into his 10th House, the transit of Pluto on his Descendant, and the conjunction of Chiron with his natal Moon. Similarly to now, the early Fixed degrees will be highlighted in three years’ time.
The 2026 Jupiter-Chiron-Pluto T-Square will address the King’s natal chart, the Coronation chart, and that of the United Kingdom (1 January 1801). The Coronation’s Midheaven is at 1 Taurus, which will be the apex of that T-Square.
It must be noted that the early degrees of Taurus/Scorpio are related to the Windsor past/future heritage; one example is William’s MC-Jupiter at 2 Scorpio, which will be highlighted in 2025/26 by progressions.
The turning point which is possibly written in the stars will coincide with one of the most historically challenging national Jupiter returns.
