The world is heavily focused on the war between Israel and Hamas right now. Whether this conflict may become a major turning point for other nations is still to be understood. What seems clear is that a culmination of tensions is currently raising further awareness on the disrupting conditions of a long-standing opposition which can hopefully be settled at some point. The whole world is currently witnessing the unacceptable loss of so many lives, and this is always a defeat from every point of view.
From an astrological perspective, the Israeli chart has been going through heavy tension. A long-standing transit of Pluto across its IC appears to have contributed to the slow deterioration of its political and territorial foundations. Pluto is sometimes quite dark, and the nation appears to be witnessing such darkness from within and without itself. Without dealing with the ideological and political debate, it is important to point out a few transits and progressions.

The astrocartography of Israel’s chart (May 14th 1948, 16:00 Tel Aviv) shows some interesting features. The secondary progressed Mars-IC line has been close to Washington DC over the last few years. The US-Israel warring axis has reignited during the current war, as Israel’s secondary progressed MC recently reached Mars at 6-7 Libra. This progressed conjunction is literally within 13 minutes of orb as war in Gaza is unfolding. From this we learn that the progressed Angles are pivotal in the manifestation of events, as they can trigger the undertones of a chart’s progressions.
The Astrocartography of Israel’s current Solar Arc Directions is equally symbolic. Israel as a nation was founded under the complex presence of Mars, Saturn and Pluto in Leo. These three planets are currently playing a pivotal role in the deteriorations of interregional relations. Directed Saturn, Pluto and the Nodal Axis are making hard aspects to the Angles over the Gaza strip, the Israel, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. Directed Mars and Sun currently square the relocated Axes in the area surrounding Teheran. This can bring additional strife between the two countries, especially in 2024, when the Mars line will cross Teheran. That area of the zodiac (11-12 degrees of Leo) happens to be Israel’s culminating MC-Pluto line (1948 chart). The recent Lunar Eclipse (October 28) fell upon this particular zodiacal area, which coincides with Iran’s MC/IC axis. The eclipse itself was also angular over Teheran, so consequent reactivations (via transits of faster planets) may give visibility to Iran. It is important to keep in mind that Jupiter and Uranus will be conjunct to the Israeli Sun in 2024, so the path of the nation may go through some changes.
Recent Lunar Eclipse
Any New or Full Moon tends to be enhanced if any planets are in close alignment with the Luminaries. The slower those planets, the more transpersonal, and oftentimes complex, the message is likely to be. The Taurus Lunar Eclipse has been a good example of this, in fact the tight Mercury-Mars-Jupiter alignment at 10-11 Taurus-Scorpio was 5-6 degrees away from the eclipsed axis. In this regard, a full manifestation of the eclipse message is likely to occur when the Luminaries perfect their aspects with the aligned planets. – Sun-Mars conjunction at 25 Scorpio on November 18th.
Obviously, consequent transits of the Sun and planets across 5-6 degrees of Taurus-Scorpio may reactivate the dynamics connected with this Lunar Eclipse in the coming years.
On October 19/20th, Prior to the beginning of the Israeli ground invasion, a Geodetic transit of Mars across the IC across Gaza, Israel and Lebanon coincided with the progressive intensification of hostilities along the two fronts.
Iran
The tension which is currently exerted on Iran’s chart is remarkable. The 1979 Mars-Mercury configuration has reached the Taurus MC by Solar Arc Directions, and is being triggered during this Lunar Eclipse. The reciprocal Mars-MC aspects in Solar Arc will be within orb for a few years. The image shows a 90-degree dial with 8th-harmonic aspects.
Also, Neptune is currently at the Uranus/Pluto midpoint, and the whole configuration is aligned with the Iranian chart’s Mars-Mercury. Meanwhile, in Gaza and Israel, the shelling is already intensifying under these tense astrological aspects. Hopefully this whole conflict is contained and a solution will be found in diplomatic ways.

Finally, it is important to point out that the New Moon of November 13th at 21 Scorpio will be engaged in a tight Mars-Uranus opposition, therefore it will carry a lot of tension.
