Let’s start from the fact that I’m not American, so I don’t ‘cheer’ for any political side. From an astrological point of view, I am fascinated by the archetypal war which has been raging all across, the understanding of which can really tell us a lot. As I’ve written in ‘Neptune vs Uranus: Redemption or Revolution’, the current social split is not only painful, but deeply evolutionary. We have assisted to the raging clash between ‘messianic illusion’ and ‘revolutionary shakeup’. As expected, the revolutionary side gained and continues to earn enormous popularity, heavily denting the messianic side which eventually made its way through the administrative process. I’ve been writing for months that Trump is in a ‘socially-expansive phase’. Just look at the worldwide movement he has just created. We may either agree or disagree with it, because of its inherent ‘Uranian’ reactivity; however, we have to acknowledge the existence of a new major current which connects a huge number of people all over the world. That Uranian clash has just begun in the skies, and it will be accompanying the Earthly reality for quite a while. Unfortunately and very sadly, that current includes extremists, who are only able to express violence and hatred for their own lives. Don’t forget that the very same extremism co-exists on both sides of this coin. In astrology we thankfully learn to look at the bi-polar nature of Creation. Now more than ever we should become aware of the co-existence of opposing archetypes at any time in history.
As I wrote for months, the most interesting astrological considerations are not about who would enter the White House, but about the dual-sided mass psychological phenomenon which has been developing all over the world. Now this planet is split between those who see this Aquarian shift as a breakup from the fear of 2020 and those who see it as a reason to equalize the people through new large-scale regularization. Nobody can say who’s right or wrong with absolute certainty, because reality can be different from what you believe it to be. During my illuminating journeys to India I learned about the mythological concept of ‘Maya’, the illusion of life. In fact, life is represented by what you ‘constantly perceive’, and without that physical perception, existence as we know it would simply cease to ‘be’.
The difficulties endured by the current generations will pave the way for a different future. In the long term I’m sure it will be brighter for all; however, as shown by this Inauguration chart, the road is long, dangerous and irregular.
What stands out is a prominent 10th House, filled with a Sun-Saturn-Jupiter cluster. I agree on the fact that its powerful Aquarian signature is interesting and that it does look like a blow of fresh air. However, heavy disturbances from the 12th don’t really make it as friendly and serene. What strikes me, and should strike every astrologer on this planet, is the angular placement of Pluto over the MC. I’m not an advocate of traditionalist astrological views, so I don’t believe in ‘malefic’ planets, nonetheless a deeply emotional and power-oriented signature belongs to the status of this chart. Liz Greene wrote about Pluto journeys never being ‘fun’, no matter how modern an astrologer you like to be seen as. Biden himself is a Plutonian person, with a Scorpio Sun hidden in the 12th House, and Pluto + chart ruler Jupiter in the 8th. I can tell you his chart is not an easy one, in fact he didn’t really have an easy life after all.
As I’ve mentioned briefly, another important factor is the presence of that Mars-Uranus conjunction in the 12th. It is quite a thorny signature for such an important event, no doubt about it. Which side of this crazy struggle it actually represents is not my interest or concern, but we can’t deny the fact that hidden influences will affect this Presidency for sure. With the Moon just 7 degrees away from that conjunction, its secondary progression will bring it right through that Fixed planetary storm later this year. Beautiful isn’t it? What are we actually looking at here? Nobody knows for sure what lies ahead but, as forecasted months ago by the most respectable astrologers, this chart is not an easy one. Great disruption and coercion are embedded into its planetary patterns. Where and whom that coercion will come from is a mystery as of now, but it’s written right there. It doesn’t necessarily mean that things are likely to be perceived as negative or that more fear will afflict this crazy historical time, but perhaps that the new administration is going to face major, historical challenges. As I wrote months ago, the alignment of that 1st quarter Soli-Lunar phase with the ongoing Fixed square speaks volumes about a major split between the government and the people. I think everybody can see that by themselves. The unprecedented popular split is likely to pose major challenges for this administration. Also, that Void-of-course Moon in the 12th House applying to a shaky and reactive Mars-Uranus conjunction (so tight!), should make us think that a large part of popular consensus will be unstable and possibly grow more ‘detached’ from the Presidential 10th House cluster. Don’t forget that Biden is going through a Pluto opposition to his chart ruler and a transit of Neptune across his IC as of now. There is a lot of pressure on him, and it’s not of an exciting type.
Another interesting fact is that the current opposition of Pluto to national Mercury across 23-24 Capricorn/Cancer is here brought onto the meridian axis. This is no little thing at all. In other words, the Inauguration IC coincides with national Mercury. This is deeply related to the large amount of dissent which has arisen from the election dispute. The IC is symbolically rooted onto the territory and its people. That Pluto-Mercury struggle is embedded into this Inauguration. It speaks of administrative and information-related issues. That’s pure mundane Mercury-Pluto symbolism. Interestingly, Biden’s 8th House Jupiter (shared wealth and moral judgement) is conjunct that troubled Inauguration IC. We have to say that the same crazy area of the zodiac which has ruled over the 2020 pandemic and the election dispute is still there, quite public for everyone to see. It will be interesting to see how that configuration plays out.
A nicer influence seems to appear in that Aquarian Mercury over the 11th cusp. It is quite communicative and open-minded I would say, especially because it combines with the Nodes via soft aspects. However, let’s not forget that Neptune stands nervously a semi-sextile away, itself having facilitated the popular division, glamorously squaring the Nodes throughout the last few months! Last but not least, in early February we will have an inferior Sun-Mercury conjunction (which means that Mercury will be retrograde) at 20 Aquarius. Inauguration Mercury is harmoniously placed (overall) but it will go through some form of checkup. I know many people are rightfully excited about this chart, and I am happy to see smiles rather than anger around, but this chart seems to be more of a ‘divisive’ than a ‘healing’ one. For the nation, with a Pluto return and another Neptune opposition ahead of itself, two major phases are reproduced soon (1776 and 1861). The unity of the States might even be at stake. I know this seems miles away from what the world feels today, but remember that those long-term evolutionary phases are still ahead and are not perceived right-away. Hopefully it won’t go that far… I would invite everybody to look at this chart’s symbolism responsibly, acknowledging the difficulties this country sees ahead of itself. Probably, the dark side of life sadly exists simply because it allows us to grow stronger and brighter.
Let’s hope for the best, and what could help EVERYBODY, and the beautiful UNITED States of America 🇺🇸
Happy New Year to all my readers! I hope you’ve been able to look within yourselves and find some renewed hope, as we symbolically transition into a new civil year. Obviously, this shift is just about ‘date counting’ because, astrologically speaking, we should perhaps look at the whole period between the latest Solstice and the end of January 2021 as a transition phase between two very different collective scenarios. Astrology can show us that the planetary scenario has radically changed, with a completely new setup ruling our near future. The main actors involved are Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus, which are going to engage in a forceful square for a little while. I would like to emphasize that the shift we are looking at is NOT related to an alleged transition into the ‘Aquarian Age’, as many people think, but simply to the overwhelming energetic shift which recent astrological events have created. In fact, the concept of Astrological Ages is related to a different phenomenon, which is called ‘Precession of the Equinoxes’. Also, the question of Ages is much disputed and uncertain, because the exact transition phases are not clearly identifiable. I don’t think we should even pay much attention to Ages right now.
We’ve learned so much from 2020, but it seems that many people were less focused on the underlying movements of such an apparently disastrous year. In the face of modern expectations, those of money and power, we have been disappointed quite heavily by 2020. Perhaps, in the near future most people will be able to realize how necessary that Capricornian dismantlement was. After all, I think the astrologer should be focusing mainly upon the recent insurgence of widespread fear and psychological darkness, rather than the most confusing line of global events ever presented! The year in which the long transit of Pluto through Capricorn reached its ultimate climax, as both Jupiter and Saturn joined forces in the same sign, was the catalyst for a long chain of expected changes which has been affecting, and will continue to affect society at large. Pluto won’t be out of Capricorn for another 4 years, but its dismantlement of societal structures has been heavily aggravated in 2020, and will continue to progress thanks to the enormous momentum just gained. By looking at the symbolism involved, it is quite clear that what we have all experienced has been an unprecedented destabilization of those structures which we used to admire. One interesting part has been the onset of a fierce war between ‘science’ and ‘conspiracy’. It is not the purpose of this article to take sides at all, but I feel that such consideration might help us identify once more how the vision of ‘alternative thinking’ has been trying to take over the ‘well-established’ dogmas of scientific ideology. This struggle between the ‘old’ and the ‘new’, and I urge the reader to look at it in archetypal terms, has been dominating the world at large, affecting many other areas of human co-existence.
The struggle leading towards change
In clear Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto fashion, I see the 2020 battle of titans as perhaps one of the harshest struggles for current generations. The events occurred are not likely to fade into oblivion at all. The fact of the matter is that what has changed is our whole perception of this world. For many people this shift is quite unconscious, and shrouded in fear. The paradigm has shifted already when Jupiter and Saturn left Capricorn, but we are still at the very initial stages of historic change. If there is one thing you learn through serious mundane astrological research, it is that history follows specific ‘meaningful patterns’. As I explained months ago in 2020 – An Extraordinary Turning Point, the actual events we have been witnessing are to be considered as either physical or psychological manifestations of a much larger pattern. That very pattern is the unceasing cyclicity of time, which astrology reads by looking at planetary movements.
A lot of noise has been generated in recent weeks and, as expected, it was greatly amplified after both Jupiter and Saturn shifted into Aquarius, perfecting their long-awaited conjunction.
Each conjunction represents the moment of ‘birth’ for each cycle, therefore it is generally accompanied by utter oblivion. The new ‘cosmic promises’ put forward around that time are thus presented to society in ‘seed form’, and a full blossoming of those very ideas won’t be visible before the second quarter of the cycle. Between the waxing square and the opposition, the cycle reaches its building stage, in which those new ideas are finally put into practice. The Jupiter – Saturn cycle which has just started will show its Aquarian, revolutionary effects onto finance, politics and society in the years to come. The waxing hemicycle will reach its culmination by 2030, at the next Jupiter-Saturn opposition. I have explained elsewhere that I have grounds to believe that the early 2030s will represent the culmination of a long phase of social renewal which is just starting now. You can watch my video presentation on youTube, which puts the ‘COVID collective panic‘ into a much wider perspective. Needless to say, too many questions remain unanswered with regards to this ‘pandemic of fear’, which ultimately represented a clear manifestation of the 2020 Capricornian planetary lineup.
In the midst of this complex astrological scenario, in January 2021 we will also be accompanied by the Jupiter – Neptune and Saturn – Neptune waning semi-squares. These two aspects are showing the closure of two important Neptunian cycles, a fact which emphasizes how this month promises to be a major turning point. I have explained the ideological and political meaning of those two semi-squares in: Saturn-Neptune and Politics.
January 2021 and its astrological wildness
Let’s begin to look into the spirit of January 2021. The transits of this month are significantly representative of what’s to come.
Opening up my 2021 ephemeris, I see a few highlights I made last month. What stands out is a series of markings over days 6 to 8. Mars will enter Taurus on January 7th, and Mercury will shift into Aquarius on the 8th. This is probably one of the most significant features of the month, simply because the recently sensitized ‘zero degree’ of Aquarius, where the Jupiter – Saturn conjunction occurred, will be powerfully reactivated by both Mercury and Mars. For quite some time, whenever faster-moving planets or the Sun will move across the early degrees of Fixed signs we are likely to see further developments with regards to the ongoing social shift. In fact, we should not forget that slow cycles, and especially conjunctions, tend to bestow with great symbolic meaning the area of the zodiac where they fall. That meaning is progressively disclosed to the public consciousness as other celestial bodies transit through. This is also how eclipses get to show their effects upon society.
Going back to our January transits, we can see how during the second week of January, as Mercury and Mars square each other, they will ‘energize’ a much more important planetary configuration. The reactionary spirit which has been awakening worldwide is but one of the initial manifestations of a long Saturn – Uranus square. With Mercury entering Aquarius and joining the Jupiter-Saturn-Mars-Uranus standoff, important information may come to the surface, and we, as a collective, will be making our way through what could turn out to be an explosion of words and facts. This will likely affect many areas of collective and individual life, not only politics.
Currently, a complex planetary configuration is initiating us to the revolutionary nature of this whole year. Both Jupiter and Saturn are now gliding along the early degrees of Aquarius, forming a significant square with Uranus in Taurus. Jupiter will move on fairly quickly in a few weeks, but the degree of ideological mobilization which is set to occur in January seems to be significant.
A lot of power-shifting events are set to accompany the slow transits of 2021/2022, and you can read more about it in an article I posted last year: Saturn-Uranus Square: the World Changing. As I explained there, we should expect 2021 and 2022 to bring widespread collapse within Governmental circles, or at least multiple attempts at overturning those structures which have been revealing their weakest spots in 2020.
An ‘eruptive’ New Moon
I’ve recently written on Instagram (you are more than welcome to follow!), that the recent Cancer Full Moon is not going to magically ‘erase’ the pain of 2020. I saw too many people putting way too many expectations onto the last Full Moon of the year. It was a very sensitive one, of course, but it wouldn’t solve or ‘release’ all our issues at all! Astrology becomes meaningful when we are able to zoom in and out along the timeline, learning how to bring cycles of different duration together. It is like studying sound or light waves: we just need to identify the different harmonics which end up ruling the trends of this world!
The Capricorn New Moon of January 13th is going to be a significant one, but let’s not forget the big picture here. What will make that event so powerful is its close alignment with Pluto. The latter, moving quite slowly, is going to stay around the 24th degree of Capricorn for pretty much the whole year. It is worth to remember that is the area of the zodiac which still carries the symbolic meaning of the 2020 collapse!
I invite all the readers to look at the next lunar month, which obviously begins with that Capricorn New Moon, as one in which we will be looking at ways to start anew. Again, this doesn’t mean that things will drastically change within days or weeks, but simply that the events which accompany us in January 2021 may prove to be quite significant for the future. We will be planting the seeds of renewal this very month. It seems quite interesting to look at all this astrological crescendo, which may eventually take us towards the Leo Full Moon of January 28th with much more awareness of what’s going on.
January as a ‘Uranian’ portal into the future
Uranus will be stationary during the second week of January 2021, a sign that may indicate much will be brewing during those very important days. It seems quite interesting that Uranus stations direct just as Mercury and Mars join the slow planetary standoff. Uranus will finally start moving slowly around mid-month, and I would like to say that a configuration which caught my attention months ago will occur on January 17th. On that day we will have an exact square between Jupiter and a practically stationary Uranus, while Mars is applying to a flamboyant conjunction with the latter. It is worth to mention how the famous astrologer Andre Barbault identified the Jupiter – Uranus cycle as a majorly explosive one. In this case, the presence of Mars within this whole picture promises extreme levels of dynamism! Uranus will still be quite slow at that point, and it won’t gain any decent forward motion at least until the end of February. This increases the level of unpredictability, as Uranus plays an important role in the disruption of mid-January! In fact, we might expect to witness the detonating effect of this particular alignment around mid-month. From a geological point of view, the enormous Fixed energy buildup will be producing enhanced seismic and volcanic activity over the next couple of years. Also, with Uranian energy all over the place, we should not be surprised to hear more about UFOs and secret intelligence declassification in the months to come.
US Election: a war of archetypes
Another very important feature to consider is that on January 20th Mars will be perfectly aligned with Uranus into a conjunction. Also, a first quarter Moon will be aligned with the first degrees of Aquarius-Taurus, where the whole planetary chaos is going on. I guess pretty much everybody knows what that date actually represents, at least my friends in the United States. The level of disruption the upcoming Inauguration chart presents is just remarkable. One may even wonder whether the ceremony itself will be held without disruption, considering the heated cosmic pattern of that very day. It is obviously impossible to clearly see what’s in store for us all, but via astrological analysis we can catch at least the symbolic meaning of that event. I have written about the upcoming US presidency and its Inauguration in USA Horoscope: a Long Presidency Ahead?, an article which has caught the attention of so many readers. I am also sticking to the idea that Trump, regardless of the confusing battle which is currently raging, is going through a socially expansive phase. As I explained in: US Election 2020 and US Election Update, the transits Trump is going through are incredibly dynamic. Also, enormous pressure has recently been acting over 23-25 degrees of Cardinal signs, heavily stressing his natal Venus-Saturn conjunction in the 11th House. He’s obviously undergoing a huge, painful struggle with his own party. In those articles I have outlined several reasons why he’s actually gaining popularity, a fact which goes beyond the election dispute itself. Trump was born with a natural tendency to be an ‘outsider’, in clear Uranian fashion.
Looking at the other side of this interesting battle, we notice how Uranus, closely aligned with Biden’s natal Descendant, is quite prone to obvious projection. I am tempted to look at the whole Saturn-Uranus conjunction within the 7th House, probably a more psychologically meaningful way of looking at it. It is obvious how in this very complex ‘archetypal’ struggle, Biden has ‘projected’ the dismantling picture of his descending ‘Saturn – Uranus’ conjunction onto the opponent, who is clearly Uranian. Whichever position Trump will be in after the Inauguration, he seems to be expressing the most visible and unstoppable part of some kind of social dynamism written in the Saturn – Uranus signature. Trump was born under a Lunar Eclipse which opposed Uranus, and those very degrees are being reactivated during these difficult months. Also, Trump’s directed Uranus is conjunct the natal Ascendant right now. This signifies a life-changing year ahead for him, possibly full of incredible challenges, but which carries a strong revolutionary, subversive and unpredictable flavor. No wonder why his reactionary political actions have been awakening deep fears within major corporations. The important issue here is not whether we agree with him or not, but whether we understand how he’s part of a mass psychological phenomenon which embodies countless people’s desire to break the boundaries of a restrictive 2020.
As I wrote in the previous paragraph of this article, we are entering Uranian times. One may just try and wonder: who is likely to carry the flag of the social Saturn – Uranus struggle of the next few years? Both parties are asking for some kind of renewal. One side is asking for freedom, the other is asking for equality. These are both noble ‘Aquarian’ ideals. Therefore, it will be quite interesting to find out which side is more authentic in the pursuit of their proposed ideals.
Biden, with Neptune having recently stationed around his natal IC, and the recent pressure exerted upon his chart ruler Jupiter in the 8th House, may see a marked disintegration of popular consensus. The Jupiter – Neptune emphasis these days are bringing into Biden’s life seem to be addressing questions of morality and judgement. His transits show a very different picture from what is going on for Trump. There is a great deal of Neptunian ‘guru-ism’ around Biden right now; many words are being nicely put and they could possibly be beneficial to many people who are looking for ‘redemption’ from their inner despair. However, how far can the people dive into the dreamlike realm of Neptune without encountering ‘disillusionment’? This is a question which I asked myself in another article: Neptune vs Uranus: Redemption or Revolution?.
I don’t think there is any right or wrong outcome to this situation, because years of astrological research have taught me to look at things according to their different archetypal signatures. The only question I urge the reader to ask himself is: what historic phase are we stepping into, from an astrological point of view? Whoever ends up leading the country will definitely have to deal with the Uranian phenomenon which lies ahead. Now, regardless of whoever happens to be President, the two-sided social movement lately generated is likely to accompany us for a long time. There is reason to believe that the painful split the USA are currently experiencing is going to spread out in other countries as well. After all, we need to remember that we are entering extremely dynamic months, with Saturn in Aquarius squaring Uranus in Taurus.
Are we willing to let go of the past?
How this incredible story of worldwide disruption will play out is a big question, and it might be the best to just acknowledge what the cosmos are showing us, and trust that everything will unfold in a way which represents humanity’s highest good. After years of astrological research, I have come to understand that it is best to accept synchronicity as it comes, because an invisible cosmic plan is always unfolding.
The power of astrology is supreme when we try and look at the events in a more archetypal and most detached manner. I am sure we have a lot to learn from the current events, which are likely to teach us astrologers of the future how to better understand those aspects of collective life which still have a long way to consciously evolve.
‘Are we willing to let go of the past?’
This is the question I urge all my readers to ask themselves now. The astrological scenario of the months to come is quite interesting and DYNAMIC. I wish I could think of a more united world coming up, but I am afraid we will need to go through much social changes before we get there. In the mean time, we should perhaps be trustfully welcoming the start of a new historic phase for humanity at large! Follow me on Instagram (@globalevolutionastrology), and leave your opinions if you wish! Over there we can look at world events in more detail, as they unfold.
My warmest thanks to all, wishing you a wonderful New Year.

The Jupiter – Saturn conjunction has arrived with much ado. A new destabilizing wave of fear is apparently attacking an exhausted world. The existence of a new strain of COVID virus has been declared days ago. As a consequence, the UK is being isolated from other countries. Apart from Brexit talks, the country is now having to deal with a mutated virus. Under the powerful Aquarian presence of a new Jupiter – Saturn cycle, are we to expect the same level of social contraction which literally halted humanity 9 months ago? I honestly doubt it. The current planetary influences are representative of much needed change. As specified in Jupiter meets Saturn, moving towards Solstice, Jupiter, Saturn and Uranus are finally engaged in a configuration of considerable importance. The complexity of this ‘Uranian’ pattern is going to set the tone of a new collective force which will be with us for a while. However, due to the relatively quick movement of Jupiter, the long-standing configuration will soon be reduced to a waxing Saturn – Uranus square.
As we prepare to de-clutter our lives and embrace what’s new, the UK struggles with Capricorn-like restrictions quite badly. As specified in Jupiter meets Saturn, moving towards Solstice & The Eurozone Under Stress, the whole EU is in for huge changes. The next few months will open a new chapter for the Union. No doubt the current turmoil will affect trade. The UK is already preparing for possible shortages of food, due to the recent disputed declarations. Considering the rapidly shifting astrological landscape, the ongoing developments are going to shed light upon many aspects of collective life. This will affect many levels of social existence, from intergovernmental institutions to individual life. Today’s ingress of the Sun into Capricorn opens a new mundane season and, our star having aligned with Mercury into a superior conjunction, we are being asked to become practical and resolute.
A quick look at the Brexit story might shed some light upon the ongoing turmoil which the UK is experiencing. As you may remember, on June 23rd 2016 a Brexit referendum was held, and it resulted in 51.9% of the votes being cast in favor of leaving the EU. The people voted under a mutable Saturn – Neptune waning square. We will see how the Saturn – Neptune cycle has played an important role for the UK, and not only with regards to Brexit.
The UK joined the European Union on January 1st 1973. Guess what, a mutable Saturn – Neptune opposition in Gemini – Sagittarius was at play back then. Therefore, the UK’s relationship with the EU is powerfully linked with the Saturn – Neptune cycle. The UK officially withdrew from the EU on January 31st 2020, at 11pm GMT. Interestingly, that occurred under a complex septile made by the Saturn – Pluto conjunction on one side, and a Venus-Neptune conjunction on the other. This means that Saturn and Neptune were linked to each other by a particular aspect. Another point of interest is that the Brexit chart has its IC at 23 degrees of Capricorn, in tight conjunction with both Saturn and Pluto. Right now, a stern Mars – Pluto square across the 23rd degree of Aries – Capricorn is influencing the world at large. It is not a coincidence that Brexit talks for a ‘deal’ are reaching a critically difficult stage at this point.
THE GREAT CONJUNCTION IS PIVOTAL
The epochal Jupiter – Saturn conjunction in Aquarius will be influencing most of the pivotal mundane charts of our times, such as Russia, China, Taiwan and Israel. There are several organizations in the same evolutionary pot, and one of them is the EU. In Europe, Germany and the UK will be protagonists of the ongoing reformation, influenced the most by the new 20-year Jupiter – Saturn cycle. This is because these particular charts have important configurations across the first degrees of Fixed signs.
Within the 1801 UK chart, royal Jupiter is in early Leo. It is currently being opposed by the Jupiter – Saturn conjunction in Aquarius. Also, a great deal of Leonine energy is visible in the secondary progressed UK chart, under its ongoing progressed Sun – Jupiter conjunction. Most importantly, an impending progressed New Moon heralds a fresh beginning for the nation, within the next months. The amount of Leo energy in the country’s mundane astrological situation suggests to me that the Royal family is likely to undergo major changes in the near future as well. It may be interesting to note how Prince William’s natal Sun at 0 degrees of Cancer was eclipsed this year. Whenever triggering planets such as Mars will conjunct or oppose the eclipsed degree the eclipse’s message will be recalled again and again for years. In The Great Eclipse I explained how that particular New Moon will bear global resonance for years to come. Also, Prince William’s Ascendant is at 27 degrees of Sagittarius, and it will be opposed by the 2032 Saturn – Uranus conjunction. The 2021-2032 Saturn – Uranus waning last quarter is going to prepare Prince William for a significant chapter of his life.
Prince Charles is profoundly connected to mother Queen Elizabeth via many powerful synastry contacts. His natal Moon at 0 degrees of Taurus conjuncts his mother’s Sun with a very tight orb. Charles’ secondary progressed North Node is now conjunct the same degree, and so is Queen Elizabeth’s progressed IC – Chiron conjunction. Her progressed Sun is currently at 1 degree of Leo, on a tight square to the progressed IC – Chiron configuration. A progressed Jupiter – Neptune opposition acts over the 23rd degree of Aquarius – Leo, with Neptune particularly close to national Saturn in Leo. This highlights the fact that important developments may soon involve the English monarchy. The Jupiter – Saturn conjunction is now becoming exact in early Aquarius, therefore activating all the Fixed signs’ early degrees. In particular, this represents a major activation for the synastry between the Prince and the Queen.
Prince Charles’ progressed Moon is currently in alignment with natal Jupiter in Sagittarius, bringing Jupiterian matters to the foreground. It will soon enter Capricorn, as it now stands on the anaretic 29th degree of Sagittarius. This will signify the arrival of important changes for him, which entail some degree of heightened responsibility. A lot has been going on in the Sagittarius-Capricorn transition area this week, and great influence is being exerted on Charles’ birth horoscope. The most important feature is that his progressed Sun at 5 degrees of Aquarius is currently crossing the natal Descendant. With the arrival of both Jupiter and Saturn, the next few weeks will represent the opening of a new chapter for him. With the progressed Sun, transiting Jupiter and Saturn soon entering his natal 7th House, Prince Charles may obtain public prominence somehow. Traditionally, any major planetary shift across the natal Descendant into the 7th House, represents a form of breaking out into the open. It’s like opening the window in a dark room, with blinding rays of light coming across all of a sudden.
On July 13th 1837 Queen Victoria moved to Buckingham Palace, making it the official residence of the English monarchy thereon. On that day, a tight Venus – Neptune opposition was acting across 6-7 degrees of Leo and Aquarius. Interestingly, Saturn in Scorpio squared the opposition. We find the Saturn – Neptune element again and again. The Jupiter – Uranus square will be exact on January 17th across the 6th degrees of Aquarius and Taurus. The revolutionary, explosive and uncontrollable influence of the Jupiter – Uranus cycle is well known to astrologers. These transits have a ‘renovating’ and ‘historic’ signature.
THE UK OPENING A NEW CHAPTER
It may be worth paying attention to the fact that the UK is profoundly linked with the Saturn – Neptune cycle, both at a Constitutional and Monarchic level. Queen Elizabeth II was born under an important T-Square which involved both Saturn and Neptune, Queen Victoria transferred to Buckingham palace under a Saturn – Neptune square, and the 1801 UK chart has a Saturn – Neptune square itself. It looks as though the old British establishment, ramified politically into its recent relationship with other countries of the European Union, is sealed under the Saturn – Neptune signature. Just as the British empire gave way to overseas predominance a couple of centuries ago, this cycle became significant for the Kingdom. The latest Saturn – Neptune conjunction of 2009 kicked off a long period of ‘independentism’ within the country. Right around the conception of that cycle, the UKIP was gaining prominence. Now that we are approaching the waning semi-square of this long cycle (exact on January 20th), we are witnessing another conclusion of facts, which heralds new beginnings for the country. The course which the UK will take is hard to define, but what seems to be evident is that the nation is likely to undergo major change, both from a political and monarchical point of view. Astrology suggests that a transition is afoot for the country, and it will affect several aspects of collective life, not only through a noisy Brexit.
Let’s embrace this long-awaited planetary shift with open hearts and compassion!
Don’t forget to share this article and leave a comment!
Astrologically speaking, a buildup of otherworldly energy is currently influencing the world at large. The recent Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius has kicked off a new chapter of elevated ideological reformation, through its Neptunian – Jupiterian signature. Moreover, the eclipse in question preceded the very important double ingress of Jupiter and Saturn into Aquarius. The Jupiter – Saturn conjunction has been within orb for months, but it will be exact at 0Aquarius29, on the day of the December Solstice. This obviously makes the upcoming season quite significant. For now let’s stick to the big picture. We can look at the Capricorn ingress of the Sun after making a few important considerations about the outer-planetary landscape. The last time a Jupiter – Saturn conjunction occurred in Aquarius was in 1405, roughly 600 years ago. These conjunctions swipe through the four elements of the zodiac, and each element phase is completed with a rhythm of roughly 800 years. This means that we are now re-rentering the Airy phase of the Jupiter – Saturn cycle, though a short window was opened by the conjunction of 1981 in Libra. Every conjunction is obviously important for the world at large, but it would be wrong to consider such events as ‘unique’. Jupiter – Saturn alignments occur every two decades, but several reasons actually turn the current conjunction into a special one. The Mutation towards the Airy season of this grand cycle is a significant consideration to be made. Also, we have to consider how significant it will be for humanity to be ushered into an Aquarian world after the deep Capricornian impasse which as affected society at large in 2020. With the Jupiter – Saturn cycle transitioning from Earth to Air, a long-haul reassessment of ‘material achievement’ is left behind, and a period of ‘ideological’ reformation starts.
With both Jupiter and Saturn going through Aquarius and squaring revolutionary Uranus in Taurus during the next months, it is quite hard to envisage 2021 as a year ruled by fear and inactivity. Also, idealist Neptune is currently squaring the Nodal Axis, adding a high level of mutability to this complex astrological picture. We should not be surprised if a great deal of popular excitement will affect the world at large during the next pivotal months. After all, Neptune is not to be seen only as ‘ethereal’, but deeply ideological too. Under Neptune’s most significant transits, humanity feels the need to find redemption, often engaging in unprecedented upheaval. Society fights for mass-oriented ideals under the influence of utopian Neptune. It seems quite obvious that the current astrological landscape is not only influenced by the now ‘famous’ Jupiter – Saturn conjunction, but by an entire constellation of epochal planetary configurations which promise that a historic revolution will accompany humanity across the 2020-2030 decade.
We are now entering an ‘uncharted’ chapter of our lives, and many layers of society are soon going to be engaged in widespread ideological battle. The bottom line is that humanitarian issues will come to the surface once more, and humanity will finally be urged to deal with them constructively. The culmination of ‘freedom-oriented’ dynamics will occur in February, under a powerful New Moon which will highlight a wonderful Aquarian stellium made by Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Sun and Moon.
Solar Ingress December Solstice 2020
The Capricorn Solar ingress chart is a very significant one. It seems that we are ready to conclude this year in a unique fashion.
The most striking features are two important conjunctions which are 30 degrees apart from each other, a semi-sextile.
A superior Sun – Mercury conjunction appears in early Capricorn, representing the culmination of our need to reorganize thoughts, projects and ideas. Superior Sun-Mercury conjunctions occur when the Earth, the Sun and Mercury are in a straight line, with the Sun in-between. The Sun – Mercury cycle is one of the most important influencers of social development, because it acts as a relaying force in the relentless tapestry of the Solar System. Inferior Sun – Mercury conjunctions occur when the latter is retrograde, and therefore it stands between the Earth and the Sun. Inferior conjunctions represent beginnings, whereas superior ones represent culminations.
The already explored Jupiter – Saturn conjunction is also pretty tight in the Solar Ingress chart, and it is placed a semi-sextile away from the Sun – Mercury superior conjunction. This picture brings duality into this solar ingress chart; the Sun remains engaged in an intellectual quest for ‘safety’ and ‘solid ground’, while our generational urge to embrace Aquarian inventiveness is now made real. In simple words, change is afoot, and the shift will be quite deep this season. However, our minds are still going to be partially focused in the past, probably with many individuals still unwilling to let go of the shore and embrace the galactic quest of Aquarian frenzy. This particular Solstice picture may bring about ‘disclosures’ and ‘realizations’ which concern our well-established beliefs and values. When the Sun will transit the Jupiter – Saturn conjunction degree, it will reignite enormous potential for change. That will occur on the USA Presidential Inauguration day. It seems quite clear that the USA are going to be playing a pivotal role in this impending transformation.
Another important feature of the Solstice chart is the final Mars – Pluto square across 22-23 degrees of Aries – Capricorn. These critically important mundane degrees are likely to bring about a powerful release of raw Scorpionic energy into society. Mars – Pluto contacts can be quite rough to deal with but, if constructively embraced, they can provide us with the necessary strength to endure even the toughest periods.
Let’s embrace this long-awaited planetary shift with open hearts and compassion!

It seems quite clear that the current American standoff is reaching a tipping point. This is not to encourage concern, simply because pretty much everyone can see how rivalry is taking over the USA. The world is now approaching the long-announced ‘energetic shift’, which will be chiefly represented by the crossing of heavy planets Jupiter and Saturn from Capricorn to Aquarius. They are practically within orb of an historic conjunction already, which will initiate the Airy season of the Jupiter-Saturn cycle. There is widespread uncertainty all around the world at this point, and this unprecedented level of polarization is a harbinger of change. We are still in eclipse season, so the vibration is quite strong. The Sagittarius eclipse is likely to unlock the fiery energy that’s been rumbling beneath the surface for weeks. Increased solar activity is forecast to reach a maximum towards the end of the month, according to NOAA, so the universal forces are beyond imaginable right now. Under the powerful Sagittarian/Aquarian influence of the coming weeks, the world may even be presented with ‘foreign’ information, knowledge which for a long time has remained undisclosed. Every major planetary conjunction is accompanied by oblivion. I mentioned this phenomenon in ‘2020 – An Extraordinary Turning Point‘ back in May. In fact, conjunctions are ‘rough’ because they symbolically carry the sprouting energy of Aries. They push new things forward in a very unrefined manner, and the changes which are envisaged will slowly take hold as the cycle unfolds. This dynamic pertains to each Lunation cycle for example, New Moon being the moment of reorientation for both Self and Collective, yet often shrouded in the darkness of what’s to come.
The world upside down
As of now, we are moving on from a recent Sun-South Node conjunction, which has glamorously opened up an important chapter. The upcoming Total Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius will be quite an important one, and more about it can be found in ‘Uncharted Aquarian Territory‘. We are witnessing the unfoldment of a two-way psychological reality, which is so polarized that each side feels like being engaged in a full-blown ideological and political war. It seems that the stars are presently setting the stage for the beginning of change, but in a dangerously powerful way. With regards to the USA, we are evidently looking at an escalation of forces which is being fueled by the recent judicial actions. Whichever side the people will take at this point adds more energy to the developing situation. It seems likely that these issues won’t be easily resolved for quite a while. It is important to remember that the upcoming Solar Eclipse of December 14th will oppose the Gemini Mars of the 1776 American Independence chart.
Mars-Pluto and ‘regeneration’
In a previous article, I looked at the ongoing Mars-Pluto cycle and how it has clearly assisted the current buildup of popular discomfort. The conjunction was exact on March 23rd at 24Capricorn43, and it initiated a worldwide escalation of fear. Obviously, the pandemic cannot be resumed in a single planetary cycle. I have outlined in several articles how the complexity of this astrological year has in fact thrown around multiple influences upon the world at large. Going back to the Mars-Pluto cycle, we are now about to complete the waxing square phase of it. This means that Mars will make a final waxing square to Pluto on December 23rd from the 23rd degree of Aries. That is also where the highly inflammatory dwarf-planet Eris is standing right now. This simply indicates a climax of popular discord. The waxing Mars-Pluto square has been prolonged, due to the retrogradation of the red planet, which has been unleashing a lot of ‘raw’ forces among society since August. Mars won’t start making an undisturbed journey until late January, because of its squares to Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto. This very charged planetary interaction will eventually push this world towards a new start. At the waxing phase of the Mars-Pluto cycle, we have been facing the widespread effects of the pandemic upon the economy and society with more realism. The psychological and monetary backlash of a prolonged series of restrictions have been huge. We are still facing the ‘manifestation’ of a new force, which seems to be both reactionary and regenerative.
The days following the Solstice (December 21) will be quite dynamic. Not only will the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction have perfected, but also we will see how Mars will start to unleash its assertive force upon the world at large. This is not a dire warning at all, because the matrix of all these phenomena is archetypal. However, it is important to tread quite carefully through the next weeks leading to the end of January. We are now entering a very dynamic phase of this ‘pandemic’ year. In order to step into new territory, some degree of ‘excitement’ has to occur. This becomes obvious when looking at historical facts. Whatever changes will be presented during the next few weeks, they will be met with resistance and discord.
The European Storm
Not only is the situation quite critical in the USA, but also in Europe. December 2020 is an important ‘gateway’ to the future, astrologically speaking. As specified in ‘The Eurozone Under Stress‘, it is evident that the EU is approaching a new phase. The Saturn-Jupiter cycle is highly resonant with European dynamics. For instance, the last conjunction brought the Euro currency into the world market. We can see how the Brexit deal struggle is now renewing winds of instability across Europe. How will the union weather this storm? How many countries will tremble under the pressing decisions about the Recovery Fund? How will Poland’s and Hungary’s vetoes affect the EU? Most importantly, how will the UK reemerge from a possible no-deal Brexit? It is going to eventually transition into a new age of UK-USA relationships? Someone mentioned it is 1776 again. This is probably the feeling which many Americans are sharing right now, so are we looking at another phase in history that will eventually bring closer the old kingdom and the new world? Isn’t Pluto returning to the position it held in 1776? What a clear social manifestation of a nation’s Pluto return… How is China going to work through this situation? Are we witnessing another cyclical shift of supremacy towards the East? This is likely and it seems to be occurring already. The upcoming Saturn-Uranus waning square, closing towards the next conjunction of 2032 swill probably bring this shift into fruition. Famous astrologer Andre Barbault outlined this cyclical shift years ago. It seems that the American spirit is well alive right now, but impending changes are afoot for this nation. It is hard to envisage how the federation of 50 might survive the upcoming Pluto return and second Neptune opposition. I have briefly outlined the astrological scenario of the 2020-2030 decade in two articles: ‘Gemini – Virgo & American History‘ and ‘USA Horoscope: a Long Presidency Ahead?‘.
The Aquarian or ‘Uranian’ times which we are now approaching are likely to bring initial destabilization. Every new beginning is obviously shrouded in anxiety and uncertainty. Time will show us how important this moment is. Many people are unfortunately unaware of the historical importance of this pivotal year.

The universal pulse is tremendously intense these days… It may never be enough to stress the fact that we are on the verge of a great cultural, ideological and spiritual shift. Both the Sun and Mercury have recently shifted into Sagittarius, adding more fuel to this underlying expanding force. We may in fact be in for a profound shakeup of our most deeply rooted beliefs.
After a year of pure Capricornian ‘structural dismantlement’, we are rapidly shifting towards a period characterized by Uranian energy. As explained in previous articles, Jupiter and Saturn are about to enter Aquarius, from where they will be squaring Uranus. Especially the Saturn-Uranus square will be in place for quite a few months, bringing a great deal of ‘revolutionary’ energy all around. In 2021, the main theme will be the dichotomy between the ‘old’ and the ‘new’. Society will be divided between what seems to represent ‘solid foundations’ and what promises to bring ‘advancement and progress’.
The reason why 2021 and 2022 could be defined as ‘Aquarian’ years is varied. The main planetary standoff will be represented by the Saturn-Uranus square, and both planets co-rule the sign of Aquarius. This means that they have affinity with the ‘humanitarian’ and ‘libertarian’ nature of this particular sign. With Saturn finally entering Aquarius, ‘freedom-related issues’ will need to be addressed, in stark contrast with the intensification of regimentation and structuring which has accompanied the still ongoing transit of Saturn through Capricorn. Also, the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction will bring us into the Airy season of this particular cycle. This means that the conjunction of December 2020 will be somewhat indicative of change. These conjunctions are not rare at all, because they occur roughly every 20 years. However, this Element shift from Earth to Air will prove to be a significant turning point, from a long-term perspective.
In 2020, the pressure over the sign of Capricorn has significantly increased, due to the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto triple conjunction. That conjunction is now fading away, as Jupiter and Saturn move away from Pluto to make a revolutionary conjunction in the next sign Aquarius. The last 11 months have served as an unprecedented catalyst for widespread self-scrutiny. Many people have visibly encountered deeper meaning in their individual lives. The difficulties endured because of the prolonged enactment of prohibitions of all kinds have triggered intense despair. Those who were on the spiritual path may have found it easier to weather the storm, nonetheless, the 2020 journey has been hard for society at large. I am now looking at it as if it were part of the past, because it is quite clear that we are now MOVING ON. The current issues are not likely to ‘fade away’ all of a sudden, but considerable progress will soon be made with regards to resolving the current situation.
These first days of December have been intensely unstable and probably even misleading for some. The most sensitive ones may have realized how unnerving the energies have been during this particular ‘transition week’. Right now we are entering uncharted territory. As I explained a few months ago, eclipses have the potential to unlock large dynamics. This is because they are seen to ‘release’ stuck energies worldwide, metaphorically speaking. During eclipse seasons the global scenario generally gets more chaotic and uncertain. This is more evident and widespread after prolonged phases of generalized disruption, such as the COVID pandemic. After a year of impasse and globalized restrictions, we can expect to witness a furious release of opposite energies. The archetype involved in the current slowdown is chiefly ‘Saturnian’ or ‘Capricornian’. For those who know even a bit about astrology, one of the basic considerations about Saturnian factors is that they erect boundaries and increase responsibility. The backlash is now expected to be represented by the arrival of Aquarian energy. It is arriving with great force, considering the 2021/2022 Saturn-Uranus standoff, combined with the entrance of Jupiter into Aquarius. The Sagittarian Solar Eclipse of December 14th will prove to be a gateway into the future, filled with visionary and ideological power. Its square to Neptune is likely to highlight misleading patterns and uncover so far hidden information. The oil and pharmaceutical industries are also in for important developments this month. The latter is obviously going to be involved with the new vaccines. However, under such a rapidly shifting astrological scenario, how likely is it that no controversial information is finally presented to the world, with regards to these quickly developed drugs?
The eclipse will fall on the 23rd degree of Sagittarius, so it will be aligned with the USA’s Mars, Trump’s and Jinping’s natal Sun and interestingly, Venezuela’s Saturn-Jupiter-Pluto-Nodes Mutable Grand Cross. Also, this particular lunation will fall near the IC in Beijing, addressing the territory and its people directly. The eclipse will fall near the Midheaven in Caracas, with Neptune rising. It seems that among the countries directly addressed, Venezuela gains a prominent role.
In the USA, the eclipse will fall in the 10th House, so it will directly refer to the current presidential standoff. The developments which may follow promise to be very interesting.
The shadow path will cross Chile and Argentina. At times when important eclipses obscure that region of the world, there seems to be a higher incidence of seismic activity along the South-Eastern Pacific fault line. Neptune will be rising along the coast of Chile at the time of the eclipse, so the risk of tsunami is not to be overlooked. Such phenomena could well manifest also under important transits over the eclipsed degree within months to come.
This particular Solar Eclipse promises to have worldwide resonance.
All these considerations confirm the fact that we are rounding the bend right now, and a major chapter is being closed. New cycles bring new challenges of course, but a change is more than needed right now. We are entering an historical phase which will definitely erase all boundaries that have been restricting human knowledge. Clear manifestations of such collective psychological and energetic shift can be found in the news already. Whether authentic or not, stories such as those of monoliths popping up and disappearing all over the world, rumors of governmental UFO files being declassified soon, UFO sightings soaring again, meteors and mysterious ‘atmospheric explosions’ being caught on camera, the space race regaining momentum, are all manifestations of the same collective shift. Aquarian times often bring us beyond what is ‘real’ and ‘terrestrial’.
Let us welcome the impending shift with open hearts and the willingness to constructively embrace social change and spiritual evolution.

The global ideological landscape is clearly influenced by a complex resonance of cyclical trends. This article will focus briefly on the interaction between three planets which are astrologically linked with the rise and fall of liberal movements.
Let’s start by making a simple observation: majority political consent is clearly seen to swing cyclically among society. In other words, there are phases which are predominantly right-wing oriented and others which are left-wing oriented. Can this be investigated through a study of planetary cycles? The answer is yes.
In this article I will focus on the interactions between Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune. It takes these three planets respectively 12, 29 and 164 years to go around the zodiac. These three orbital periods give rise to three distinct synodic cycles: Jupiter-Saturn, Jupiter-Neptune and Saturn-Neptune.
The last Jupiter-Saturn conjunction occurred in 2000, and a new one is already within orb. It will be exact in a few weeks, in December 2020.
The last Jupiter-Neptune conjunction occurred in 2009, and the next one will be exact in 2022.
The last Saturn-Neptune conjunction occurred in 1989, and a new cycle won’t start before 2026.
Both the Jupiter-Neptune and the Saturn-Neptune cycles will reach their waning semi-squares in January 2021. This particular aspect will be analyzed toward the end of this article, because we should look into each one of these planetary combinations first.
ENDS AND BEGINNINGS
As specified in previous articles, the current Jupiter-Saturn conjunction will set the tone for the years to come, especially from a financial point of view. There is evidence about this particular cycle influencing European dynamics. However, let’s just stick to the fact that the actual December 2020 conjunction (early Aquarius) will make an interesting alignment with important features of the 1957 Treaty of Rome chart.
I would like to emphasize once more that the European Union is in for important developments. Once both Jupiter and Saturn finally shift into Aquarius, towards the end of this year, we may begin to clearly see that big changes are afoot within the Eurozone. Let’s not forget that the Euro currency is entering an important phase as well, as Uranus is now squaring the position it held in 1999. Having been launched around the last Jupiter-Saturn conjunction, the Euro will now undergo its ‘maturity test’.
By acknowledging the fact that a new Jupiter-Saturn cycle is about to open a new economic chapter, we also understand that its Aquarian signature may in fact give voice to a myriad of ‘freedom-oriented ideologies’. This very cycle is central to our analysis, because it is currently reaching its conclusion/renovation, under the current Jupiter-Saturn conjunction.
NEPTUNE AND LIBERALISM
A major turning point occurred around the end of the 1980s, when the bi-polarism between East and West in fact turned into a predominance of US economy. The fall of the Eastern bloc represented a watershed moment in modern history, considering the widespread reorientation which followed thereafter. Also around the same years, the Chinese economy consolidated and, after the 1989 unrest, the country fully established itself as an unshakable world power.
The planetary configurations of 1989 were quite complex, with a prominent Saturn-Neptune conjunction which acted centrally as a ‘renovating influence’ over the communist/socialist world. The same conjunction was accompanied by Uranus, so it became a historic triptych which in fact managed to revolutionize the Eastern bloc. The picture was completed by Jupiter making oppositions to the same triple conjunction in Capricorn. That was the beginning of ‘rebirth’ for the Eastern political world. Every beginning requires an end of some sort, and in this case it occurred with the fall of the USSR and the modernization/democratization of the regions involved. Since the Russian Revolution, each Saturn-Neptune conjunction has corresponded with important moments along Russian history. The conjunction of 1917 coincided with the revolution, whereas the one of 1953 was accompanied by Stalin’s death and the advent of a new chapter for Russia. The whole 1953-1989 Saturn-Neptune cycle eventually led to the disintegration of the USSR and a thorough modernization of the bloc. It may be quite interesting to see what the next conjunction of 2026 will bring. It actually bodes well for humanity at large, because it will be prominent in early Aries, forming unusual harmonious aspects to both Uranus and Pluto. The mid-part of this decade in fact promises to correspond with a giant leap for humanity.
Through a study of these cycles we can clearly see how left-wing movements appear to rise and fall around Europe as well. The early 1990s brought an end to Thatcherism, which had been dominating the continent with strongly conservative ideologies. This was obviously part of the 1989 ideological shakeup described above. Within a few years, the rise of Bill Clinton in America gave rise to another version of left-wing ideologies. As a reinvention of policies which are actually ‘foreign’ to the American spirit, Clintonism still remains as one of the most scandalous chapters in the country’s history. Clinton faded out of the political scene in the early 2000s, when Bush’s election brought a more conservative wind all across. The onset of ideological wars at the turn of the millennium in fact accompanied a return to nation-oriented policies, at least in the US. Interestingly, Clinton’s fading out of the political scene was accompanied by a new Jupiter-Saturn cycle which started in conservative Taurus, soon followed by the Jupiter-Neptune opposition phase. In other words, the ideological consensus swung back to the right under a new Jupiter-Saturn conjunction and the culmination of the 1997-2009 Jupiter-Neptune cycle.
JUPITER ACTING AS A POLARIZER
Jupiter, having the shortest of these three orbiting periods, acts as timing-factor. In this context, its influence may be likened to that of Mars, which often acts as a trigger for big events by transiting across slow-moving planetary configurations.
Interestingly, the Jupiter-Neptune conjunction of 1997 brought a liberal wave in the UK with the advent of Tony Blair’s administration, whereas the following opposition, as specified, corresponded with Bush’s arrival and warmongering actions. The widespread consensus swung back to the left around the next conjunction of 2009, when Obama got elected. At the 2015 opposition a new reorientation was experienced, while Trump was seeking to obtain his Republican nomination. Another revamp of liberalism will possibly come at the next Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in 2022. In another article I have explained how 2022 will represent an important turning point along the 2021-2025 US Presidency.
JANUARY 2021: TURNING POINT
The two Neptunian cycles here described will reach their respective waning semi-squares in January 2021. Both Jupiter and Saturn will in fact form a closing aspect to Neptune, with Saturn remaining within orb for a while.
This may suggest that we are reaching an important turning point along the current Neptunian synod. We may start to see a deep crisis affecting the liberal world after years of widely acknowledged predominance all across the EU. Also, what is occurring in the US right now seems to be deeply resonant with this impending shift. The widely-honored liberal world, which gained its wide consensus under the arrival of Obama at the last Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, is now facing substantial obstacles. It is evident that the consensus that liberals have been keeping up to this point is now abruptly disintegrating, due to the numerous questions being raised after the disputed elections. The US election crisis may in fact serve as the ‘reorienting’ factor which will eventually lead to a ‘rebirth’, and possibly ‘cleanup’, of the American liberal circles. It is important to understand that right and left-wing political views are simply social manifestations of opposing archetypes. Each archetypal dynamic determines a path of human evolution and, along its recurring cycles, is seen to expand and exhaust repeatedly. The expansion phase sometimes even corresponds with the rise of intense fanaticism, which eventually leads to a more abrupt fall and a total swing to the other side. This was the case with WWII and the years leading up to it, as well as the communist rule over countries which have now turned almost to the far-right.
As specified in this article, we may expect the see a renewed Democratic party by 2022, at the next Jupiter-Neptune conjunction, and possibly a deeper re-consolidation by 2026, around the next Saturn-Neptune conjunction.
The next few years will definitely be dominated by a very different flavor though. Uranian energy will be all over the place as the new year sets in, under the influence of both Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius squaring Uranus in Taurus. What can be expected is a worldwide reformation of governmental structures, considering the deep Capricornian revelation which has been dominating most of 2020. The Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto triple conjunction in Capricorn has in fact been digging quite deeply into power systems and legislature. The trigger for such a deep global reorientation is obviously represented by the pandemic. The culmination of all this is currently unfolding, with the US Election crisis. The crisis, having been accompanied by the third and final Jupiter-Pluto conjunction is in fact the culmination and turning point of deep-seated legislative issues. The current turmoil is ‘unveiling’ a lot of hidden issues, and it will eventually allow society to jump into a renovated world.
We may soon begin to see the ‘useful’ side of this 2020 struggle, as the arrival of Aquarian energy will finally bring some freshness into this world.
Aquarian energy at its strongest…The next lunar month starts with the New Moon of February 11th.It will occur at 23 Aquarius, accompanied by an extraordinary alignment of Mercury, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn in the same sign.It seems quite obvious that humanitarian themes will reach an unprecedented climax between February and March. At the beginning of […]
After months of unprecedented restrictions and widespread fears, we are carefully but steadily treading towards a new age. As explained in recent articles, an upsurge of Aquarian energy will be significant from December 2020 onward. This is not to say that all problems will magically disappear, but simply that typically ‘Aquarian’ elements will dominate the global scenario throughout the next few years.
What is Aquarius all about?
For those who haven’t read my previous articles, I would like to offer a quick summary of the Aquarian realm feels like.
Aquarius deals with ideologies of a humanitarian type, but first and foremost it demands FREEDOM. Freedom of thought, speech, religion, etc. Those are the themes which the world is likely to vehemently start fighting for, as both Jupiter and Saturn enter this Airy sign in December.
Year 2020, with its Capricornian impasse and unnerving power-grip, has taught us so much about the preciousness of freedom. Everything often appears quite dull and unemotional when we look through Capricornian lenses. That’s not because this sign is ‘worse’ than any other one – in fact, the zodiac as a whole represents the totality of human experience. Today’s underlying issue (or blessing) is that three heavy planets have been conjunct in this very sign for almost a year. As specified in other articles, this has unearthed all those flaws which have been ruling societal systems at large. The global impasse has proved to be a blessing in disguise, because it brought to our attention all that constitutes ‘restriction’ and ‘blockage’. Not only has this occurred on a collective level, but also in each individual life. Depending on the House of one’s natal chart where the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto conjunction has fallen, a specific area of personal life is likely to appear ‘messed up’ right now. That mess actually constitutes the building ground from which to start anew.
In such an ideologically divided world, what is ‘conservatism’? I’d say there is no clear answer to that. It is obvious that egalitarian ideals are rightfully powerful these days. On the other hand, there are people who claim that today’s world sickness is not primarily represented by sexism, racial differences and so on, but by the workings of an Establishment which deceitfully thrives on such matters. So many names are being thrown against one another these days. Both ‘neo-socialists’ and ‘conspiracy theorists’ claim to uphold the truth, but hardly can we see a glimpse of genuine thought in this world. Perhaps, after such a Plutonian-Saturnian nightmare, society can hardly accept the fact that ‘rational, fair understanding’ is rising so strongly. Remember, ‘freedom’ is going to be the main theme of 2021/2022. Related events will be all over the news.
In a world ruled by fear, uncertainty and sorrow, an agonizing economy struggles to see far ahead, and the people wholeheartedly wait for a change. What does ‘freedom’ actually mean in such a confused scenario? Is freedom represented by the breakdown of all recently-imposed boundaries or the unified adherence to those? Each one of us has his own idea, obviously. That is why it is actually hard to say what could actually be best for the future of humanity right now. No matter if one is an obtusely skeptical science-minded individual or a self-disillusioned guru-seeker. It is pointless to take sides politically when looking at cosmic configurations. Politics is man-made. Instead, the cosmic energies speak to the Soul!
What astrology can tell is that we will be asking for freedom, and quite powerfully. Saturn and Uranus will be at odds with each other for a couple of years (2021/2022), so let’s just be prepared for the climax of social resistance to what represents the ‘new world’. The Saturn-Uranus cycle is akin to the cyclical building-disintegration process of society. This means that in sync with its ebbs and flows, humanity is seen to reinforce structures or renovate. We are in for a period of hopefully constructive ‘exploration’ of ‘new life’.
Is that new life all about never-ending, widely-accepted COVID measures?
Is it about getting back to our ‘previous life’?
Who knows, it’s too early to say…
Given that the American Election seems to be pivotal for the direction this world might be taking in the near future, it may be quite insightful to look at the psychological features described within the birth charts of the two most popular political contenders of these times.
It seems like the country is seeing two Presidents at once. Considering the obvious level of polarization and ideological fuss, a good astrologer should probably try and identify the underlying patterns at play. What is actually generating such an extraordinary level of ideological polarization all around the world, and not only within the country concerned?
A quick consideration about both contenders’ 10th Houses might prove quite insightful.
Biden’s chart shows Neptune in Libra within the 10th House, forming soft aspects with both the Sun-Mercury-Venus cluster in Scorpio in the 12th and the descending Saturn-Uranus conjunction. Neptune is obviously a prominent feature of Biden’s chart, especially when it comes to his popularity. With the utmost clarity, we can see a Neptunian manifestation across his campaign. For those who have some astrological experience, it probably seems quite clear why he is widely accepted as a kind of ‘messiah’. Biden’s role is that of the ‘redeemer’ as of now. It is important to remember that Neptune is currently transiting across his natal IC, enhancing such archetype in his life. Neptune is known for its glamorous, messianic, redeeming, and often scandalous signature. Oftentimes a very thin, indistinguishable line separates ‘altruism’ from ‘deception’. In following his purest dreams of ideal well-being, the messiah oftentimes becomes the architect of his own downfall. This is pure astrological theory, and it goes away from any political consideration. Biden’s chart shows a lot of ‘hidden’ content, with both the 12th and 8th houses being occupied by significant planets. This does NOT mean he carries a negative chart, simply because nothing is negative in astrology. Such features should just drive the psychologically-inclined astrologer towards a specific question: is Biden conscious enough to positively utilize all the hardly-manageable energies he carries within? Neptune connects with the Descending Saturn-Uranus conjunction, so his close collaborators have access to his ‘holy grail’ of messianic redemption. How much can we trust his connections? Biden is able to use his relationships as a way to Neptunian success; that may literally indicate proneness to being utilized by others. We know he’s not been going through an easy life at all, as it would seem obvious with such a chart. Would he use such knowledge in favor of the collective? Plutonic charts may carry a great deal of manipulative power, and this needs to be taken into account. It is obvious that this world needs to take care of its wounds right now, and it has been said that he can bring that ‘healing’. Maybe, but it’s hard to believe. Anyway, it is not this article’s purpose to answer that question. Interestingly, the word ‘healing’ is often hooked onto people like Biden, who was born under a prominent Sun-Chiron aspect. However, the story may not be as simple as it seems. Remember, the boundary between bliss and disappointment is always thin, especially when dealing with ‘messiahs’ and ‘gurus’ of any historical age. This may be an irritating statement, but it constitutes a psychologically meaningful question which may determine the direction of humanity’s future path.
Trump’s chart shows a very different picture. Obviously, it is archetypally opposite. The stark difference between those two personalities determines the social polarization which is consuming the world at large. Trump is a Uranian individual. His 10th House hosts a flamboyant Sun-Uranus-North Node conjunction in Gemini. His reputation is linked to changeability, irrationality and the breaking of existing boundaries. With this configuration, genius is often mixed with madness, activism goes along with anarchism, speech may enter dangerous grounds, words may be unrestrained. He was born under a Lunar Eclipse, so he is a master in dividing people. Sun-Moon natal oppositions represent the ultimate divisive force in a person’s life. He is driven by discord, but the fundamental principle here is Uranian. His mission is to break from the past. It is a Uranian person’s ultimate ‘goal’ to be rejected and labeled. He is playing the role of the ‘outsider’.
Whether the ideals promoted by either contender are ‘good’ or ‘bad’ is something which will be clearly understood years, or maybe decades, into the future.
It is obvious that history is really in the making, under the interesting confrontation between these two starkly different contenders. As specified already, the upcoming planetary transits are likely to bring a lot of interesting news.
Now that both ends of the collective psychological spectrum are clear, who seems to represent the revolutionary future suggested by the upcoming cosmic configurations? As specified in previous articles, the planetary scenario of the next few weeks promises to bring unexpected developments.
At the beginning of […]
We can deem ourselves lucky to be living through such eventful times. The birthing pain of the new society is a necessary requirement right now. We’re standing at a major turning point in history. Steven Forrest used to talk about the ‘Capricornian Awakening’ back in 2018, whereas astrologer André Barbault forecasted a phase of generalized chaos for 2020/2021. I see a planetary awakening of ‘lightforce’ occurring all over. The spiritual world obviously saw it coming, yet a large part of society has not yet tuned into the ‘rising energies’. To better understand this phenomenon, this article casts some light upon the worldwide upheaval, without diving too deeply into complicated astrological jargon.
IMPLICATE & EXPLICATE ORDERS
Existence works through a binary system: both an implicate and an explicate order of things constitute the two facets of this mechanism. Scientist David Bohm introduced this concept in the 1980s. Human society is now standing at a turning point of its natural awakening of consciousness. This is because the community is rapidly awakening to the presence of such implicit order of things, realizing at large how the underlying existential patterns mirror all physical manifestations on Earth and around the Universe. The philosophical, astrological, psychoanalytical, artistic and spiritual fringes of society have never doubted about all this. However, the interesting part here is that a disproportionate number of individuals is now ‘tuning in’ to deep-lying, higher frequencies. What is such collective fervor all about? Why is this all manifesting in 2020?
There are countless ways of analyzing this theme, at least in part, with the help of rational thought. As an astrologer, I am keen on observing how historic planetary alignments coincide with major turning points in history. A lot of astrological information appears in this blog, and it explains in detail how the current society is transforming. The unusual buildup of slow planetary forces in one small portion of the zodiac observably correlates with times of major upheaval in history. Astrologer André Barbault spoke at length about the ‘Planetary Index’, a concept which has been around since the early 1900s and which refers exactly to the same concept. A similar congregation of planets happened in the 1300s, during the Black Death, as well as during each of the World Wars. However, the latter two events were accompanied by planetary alignments of a lesser tightness than the current one.
DESTRUCTION OR REBIRTH?
The destructive/regenerative power of the World Wars was already enormous, so what can we expect from the current times? It is already becoming quite evident that the world is in for another major ‘collective realization’. Undoubtedly, each challenging phase in history has turned out to be an opportunity for future growth and rebirth. The ‘old’ fades away and the ‘new’ emerges. Confusion rules the world at large right now; the people are not sure as to what represents the ‘old’ and what constitutes the ‘new’. Many people are not sure where ‘Light’ currently resides, as opposed to what kind of ‘Darkness’ is afflicting the world. The cosmic vibrations resonate powerfully during times such as these. In fact, a rapidly growing number of people experience an ‘enlightening’ effect in the private sphere of individual life.
Though everybody realizes that something major is occurring, yet not everyone manages to see the light toward the end of this dark tunnel. Those who are luckily ‘tuned into’ the higher realms of consciousness do have a clearer vision of the times ahead.
FEAR AS A DEFENSE AGAINST THE UNKNOWN
Darkness is fear, and psychologically it pertains to the chthonic world. The mythological Underworld remains cracked open for widespread infusion of fear (read my previous article ‘2020: an Extraordinary Turning Point‘). Like the story of Dante sailing through the underworld Stix river guided by Virgil, the global community is now compelled to make a trip into the darkest corners of human existence. As specified by famous astrologer Liz Greene, Plutonic phenomena are undoubtedly distressing, yet they herald times of growth and development. Indeed, the Plutonic world presents humanity with the painful experience necessary to make that ultimate transition towards a renewed existence. Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn ‘dominate’ these times; a situation which is aggravated by the angular closeness of both Neptune and Uranus.
THE VISION OF A NEW SOCIETY
The whole global disorientation is not going to fade away anytime soon. However there is light of the shiniest type beyond the curtain. Through successive phases, or ‘waves’, the world will transition into a new state of generalized consciousness. This does not absolutely mean that everyone will embrace a spiritual or philosophical path. We are simply at the dawn of a shift which will affect the global mentality at large.
Around the end of December 2020 or the beginning of January we will be assisting to a great new wave. That wave is not likely to be one of fear and restrictions, but of realization and hope. It is pointless to spend energy on ‘guessing’ future events; it is enough to be aware that something will shift around those weeks, quite powerfully. The world seems to be stuck into a spiral which only leads to darkness, hopelessness and fear. Those days will strongly address all this. How it will occur is uncertain, but we will witness something major.
It is expectable that such new wave will pent up conscious energies worldwide; such movement will have the power to ‘erase’ pre-existing structures throughout the next few years. How this will turn out is not a matter of today, and it will be manifested in due course. The work of Universal consciousness is unveiling a complex process of ‘collective rebirth’ which will push society into a completely new world!
Time in here slows down I feel Life reversed Clearly I can see Sides along this road with my fears and hopes Fleeting as it is The journey of this Life Steers away from light
Cold becomes my face Dry wind touching it I let go of those lines Which once so safely moored me To a world of greed Good ol' Man demands Listen to thy Soul Wait for light to come
A clear energetic shift is occurring right now. Those who appreciate their innate sensitivity may have felt the powerful station of Saturn these days. The planet of ‘wisdom’ has been moving through Capricorn since December 2017, reassessing structures and boundaries worldwide. Having already made a quick entrance into the next sign, it will eventually enter Aquarius in two and a half months, on December 17th.
What is this sign change going to be about?
Aquarius is an Air sign, so the upcoming transit of Saturn, its co-ruler, will address the intellectual side of things, steering away from the phase of dismantlement we have been going through. Though it seems that this world has recently slipped into unmanageable chaos, the Capricornian frenzy which has been dominating the global scene since January 2020 has actually opened the gates of triumph for humanity. Though it sounds quite controversial, this has to be contextualized within a long-term view of social evolution. Since late 2017 the buildup of static energy has been proceeding at a very slow and almost indistinguishable pace (in perfect resonance with Saturn’s symbolism), affecting global politics, finance, the environment and individual lives.
Visibly, the gradual buildup of conservative energy has coincided with the approaching phase of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction, which this year has manifested in the form of a massive reorientation of social dynamics.
As Saturn new stations retrograde we all look at new ways of making business, restarting a severely damaged economy and embracing the demands of Nature in more authentic ways.
I am confident in saying that the long transit of Saturn through Capricorn, with the peak experience of its meetup with Pluto and Jupiter will be seen as a necessary process of ‘Collective Ego-shedding‘.
Shortly, the world will enter a new phase of conscious evolution, dictated by the 29-yearly cycle of Saturn, as it aligns with Jupiter in early Aquarius on a historic Airy conjunction. The stream is shifting towards the interconnections of futuristic life, and possibly technocracy.
Hopefully the human race will manage to understand where boundaries need to be drawn around the delicate spirituality of Man, without being affected by the products of its own brutal, yet divine intellect.
Wanders alone Abandoned my Soul Bleeding it goes Starving for Life
Doubtful my reign Lonesome my Heart Fearful of now To this void I bow
Lost on the way Tears help me pray Rain hits the ground So silent this sound
Strife rules my heart Warrior depart Go find the Light That way seems right
Finally I see Love always wins Healing it be The Journey begins...
In modern astrology, an understanding of the cycle of Chiron has helped us transition towards a more spiritual, less fatalistic view of the cosmic dynamics. The powerful mythological image of the Wounded Healer leads towards profound changes and inner awakening. The greediness of this world of ‘form’ subsides in front of the wisdom of our maverick Centaur.
News such as the US President getting ill, the Russian journalist Irina Slavina setting herself on fire and dying for ideological reasons and the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict are clear manifestations of the current astrological weather.
In fact, the latest Full Moon was conjunct Chiron in Aries and it occurred on October 1st (read The Planet Searches for its Lost Well-being). This lunation has been showing us the power of renunciation and individual defeat. Chiron talks about healing through surrender and compassion. This goes a long way off the modern view of individualistic empowerment.
‘Pain in this life is not avoidable, but the pain we create avoiding pain is avoidable’
The Autumn Equinox has arrived, the Sun slides into the Southern Celestial Hemisphere. In Mundane Astrology, one cannot overestimate the importance of quarterly ingresses of the Sun. The moment the Sun enters one of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn) contains astrological clues about the months to come. This year’s Libra Ingress of the Sun will occur on September 22nd, under a series of interesting planetary aspects.
As expected, throughout the last lunar month several countries have experienced either social unrest or parliamentary movements, in line with an international manifestation of the ongoing reassessment of social structures. Japan’s PM Shinzo Abe resigned for health reasons; it is quite interesting to see that last month’s New Moon in Leo, which in “A Fiery Month Ahead” was interpreted as the potential trigger for a series of governmental shifts, fell at the local Midheaven over Tokyo. A coup set destabilization in Mali, Hong Kong protests have started gaining momentum again, several North American cities are plagued with widespread unrest, and what is currently going on in Belarus is another clear demonstration of the powerful energies at play. The enhanced influence of Mars has also manifested in the form of wildfires; once again, California has unfortunately been afflicted by extensive blazes. Wishing for a quick recovery and safe evacuation of all those involved. Until the next New Moon arrives, this monthly trend will not have been completely expressed yet.
The next Soli-Lunar conjunction will occur on September 17th, and it will fall at 25Virgo00, in a wide opposition to Neptune in Pisces, a harmonious trine to Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto in Capricorn, and a fastidious sesquiquadrate to Uranus in Taurus.
This particular Moon Wobble phase shows the Sun-Moon conjunction squaring the Nodal Axis with a less-than-one-degree orb.
A mixed message transpires from this lunation, which after all takes a responsible, methodical approach, yet it carries an illusory flavor. Virgo is mundanely related to workers, healthcare, service and law enforcement personnel. It is in fact the sign of “subordination”, which in its most positive form can be regarded as “duty and service”. The Virgoan approach is always methodical and often driven by criticism. Attention to detail is a priority when this particular sign becomes emphasized. The next New Moon may therefore bring up a very different theme into the world scene, because we might start to see what serious consequences the ongoing slowdown is having on certain parts of society.
A large part of society may seek insubordination or demand better living conditions, as the Soli-Lunar conjunction will receive the influence of democracy-oriented Neptune and reactionary Uranus. With Mercury – ruler of Virgo – in tight square with an almost stationary Jupiter, the need to develop a deeper understanding of facts will be high. New agreements related to the themes above mentioned may be constructively signed or discussed, and we might even expect some countries to take some distance from intergovernmental organizations or coalitions. Interestingly, Brexit talks have been reignited once more, as the UK threatens to trash the deal. With Virgo involved, environmental awareness may be a prominent theme as well, hopefully bringing about constructive developments in a world which is still seeking its true direction.
Also, with Virgo being akin to health matters and well-being in general, significant developments in the fight against COVID-19 may start to appear. The pharmaceutical industry may acquire more visibility during the coming lunar month, and the controversial question about vaccines may be in the news even more.
It is worth noticing that the New Moon in question will be “angular” over two important cities. In Washington DC it will be rising, whereas it will be culminating over Berlin. This indicates that both the USA and Germany will possibly feel the influence of this lunar month the most. Mars in Aries turns retrograde on September 10th, under a highly influential square to Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. Interestingly, this event will affect the Euro currency chart, which carries a tight Venus-Saturn square around those Cardinal degrees.
On September 11th the Sun opposes Neptune at 19 degrees of Virgo-Pisces. It is worth noticing that such configuration will affect the Piscean Moon of the German republic’s 1990 chart; astrologically speaking, this is an indication of the possible rise of strong democratic/liberal movements nationwide. The New Moon in question will fall in close conjunction with the zodiacal position of Mercury in the German chart; trade, workforce, transportation and healthcare may demand reassessment throughout the next weeks. Also, we might expect international visibility and increased dynamism within governmental circles in Germany.
France’s national Saturn is located at 20 degrees of Sagittarius, and the upcoming configuration might start off some domestic reorientation of structures and traditional values. Throughout the next months, as the South lunar node approaches the 20th degree of Sagittarius, tightening the orb with Neptune in square from Pisces, the country may need to face new challenges related to the conservation of its own stability. On the long term this may affect finance, legislation and even the governmental balance.
The upcoming Moon Wobble will potentially heighten tensions in the Middle East again, perhaps in connection with the increasing financial pressure which comes from both America and the EU. Oil prices may be significantly affected, with the New Moon squaring the Nodes and opposing Neptune in Pisces.
On the other side of the pond, we find a strongly shaken country which is approaching its next presidential elections with a remarkable degree of popular disorientation. As specified already, the New Moon will be rising over Washington DC, addressing the needs of the people and possibly questioning the direction taken by the country. This configuration may indicate that a new path may slowly start to open up for the USA, and several parts of the population may call for renewal and the betterment of social conditions.
The New Moon configuration will activate the 1776 Independence chart’s Mars-Neptune square, which was powerfully stimulated last June (read more on “The Dance of Fire“). In fact, certain planetary alignments in Mutable signs have recently released enormous amounts of social dissatisfaction within the country. All in all, another confused month is likely to be in store for the USA.
The next Full Moon will occur on October 1st and it will fall at 9Aries08, in close conjunction with the asteroid Chiron, during an almost exact Mars-Saturn square (which will be on its second hit because of Mars’ retrogradation). By then, a lot of rogue, unrefined ‘martial’ energy may be out and about. This could be constructively channeled thanks to Chiron, whose purpose is to show the path to healing and understanding. Yet, whenever Chiron is involved, society is asked to come across its deepest wounds and most profound uncertainties, first of all.
Hopefully, the next Full Moon will not awaken any further warfare rhetoric, guiding us towards a more constructive use of that ‘wounded’ warrior-like energy which has been ravaging the global scene for months, perhaps through talks of disarmament rather than further standoffs.

A complex Saturn – Uranus waning square is approaching, while unbalance and discomfort continue to dominate the world view. The current planetary configuration in Capricorn has obviously unleashed enormous amounts of energy. All this comes with the flavor of the most conservative of astrological signs. Concurrently, a fastidious semi-square between Uranus and Neptune participates in the whole story; no wonder why humanity is still looking for a way to clear out the fog and move forward with decision.By looking at next year, a specific configuration becomes prominent; in fact, an extensive Saturn – Uranus square in fixed signs will dominate 2021, remaining within orb throughout most of 2022.
A highly charged configuration, it will occur right after a long period of social, political and economic destabilization. The long square will trigger profound changes all over the world. The interval between two successive Saturn – Uranus conjunctions is around 45 years long. Such period visibly marks an entire cycle along the cyclical reorganization of social dynamics. The 29-year cycle of Saturn resonates with both individual and collective growth. Its ultimate meaning is that of grounding ideas into reality. On the other hand, the 84-year cycle of Uranus is related to slower evolutionary trends; it addresses the ebbs and flows of ideological and intellectual force. While Saturn sets the boundaries of that which we create materially and methodically, Uranus looks beyond; it opens doors to the realm of idealism and freedom. Obviously, the interaction between these two planets is generally accompanied by turbulent reshuffles within society.
Each conjunction sets the stage for a new half-century phase in which society at large seeks a different governmental/ideological balance. By looking at past Saturn – Uranus cycles, we get a clear idea of the rhythm at which leadership currents change on a large scale. André Barbault’s book ‘Planetary Cycles – Mundane Astrology” contains a clear description of such phenomena.
What times are we living in?
We are currently approaching the last quarter of the current Saturn – Uranus cycle, which started with a conjunction period in 1988. It will end in 2032 with another conjunction. The last quarter of each cycle starts off the disintegration of obsolete structures. This brings a period of crisis necessary for the discovery of newness by the time a new conjunction occurs. The end of the 1980s was obviously a time of turbulent upheaval; the major outcome of the latest Saturn – Uranus conjunction was the fall of the Eastern bloc. This caused the consequent shift of power towards the West. The disintegration of the USSR was an utter manifestation of the instability of Saturn – Uranus alignments. Such planetary interactions provoke rapid shakeups within the world of structure and control.
Saturn is akin to traditions and the Establishment while the nature of Uranus is both sudden and cold-blooded. As a result, under Saturn – Uranus aspects the foundations of society at large shake badly due to society’s desire for change.
As the USA face their Pluto return (this means that Pluto is now transiting the same area of the zodiac where it was in 1776), a profound metamorphosis is occuring within the country. Also, Neptune is currently opposing the position it holds within the Independence Chart. This is the main reason why new social movements are developing nationwide. The next Inauguration Day will occur under a complex configuration of great importance. In January 2021, the above-mentioned Saturn – Uranus square will be accompanied by Jupiter in close conjunction with Saturn in Aquarius. In other words, the Inauguration of US Presidency will occur between the upcoming Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in early Aquarius and the first hit of the Saturn – Uranus square. Also, Mars will be conjunct Uranus in Taurus, together with the Moon. 2021 Inauguration Day will fall around a very heated First Quarter Soli-Lunar phase.
This shows us that the next US Presidency will be about enacting a forceful reorganization of structures and social balance. This relates to the fact that in the Inauguration chart such an unstable planetary alignment will dominate two Fixed Signs. The Moon will accompany Mars and Uranus in a financial sign, so civil unrest is not likely to subside at all.
US & the EU
There are grounds to determine that 2021 will represent a long standoff between ‘conservation’ and ‘renovation’. Obviously, the Saturn – Uranus waning square will affect many countries, and not just the USA; the current balance of forces within the European continent may need to be reassessed as well. This is because the early degrees of Fixed Signs has played a prominent role along the European Union’s history.
The three Saturn – Uranus squares will occur between 7 and 13 degrees of Aquarius and Taurus, two Fixed signs. This indicates that the upcoming destabilization will affect whatever survives by inertia within the social, political and economic scene. Such planetary stimulations are also liable to trigger powerful geological or environmental instability, including historical earthquakes, explosions or eruptions. We may assist to environment-related breakthroughs, and our relationship with planet Earth may change, hopefully in positive ways. As long as humanity succeeds in controlling its environmental impact, the upcoming planetary struggle will prove to be constructive.
All countries and organizations carrying important planetary configurations within the same degrees will be affected throughout 2021. Among those we find India, China, Russia, Germany, the United Kingdom, NATO, the United Nations and the European Union. Russia is approaching its Saturn return, and this appears as an upcoming phase of national reassessment. The domestic changes many countries and organizations are likely to experience will set the stage for the upcoming global reorientation.
The current cycle started from late Sagittarius in 1988; it coincided with a powerful crackdown of the bipolar political struggle which had been ruling the world since WWII. In fact, it directed humanity towards the expansiveness of a fast-growing globalization phase.
As the old saying goes, ‘history repeats itself’. So long as humanity becomes genuinely aware of its own evolutionary process, each crisis heralds a better future!
We are definitely living through extremely complex times, and no easy solution still seems to be visible amidst the ongoing disintegration of an obsolete global balance. Without risking to exaggerate, we can say that multiple hot spots bringing either social unrest, sickness or generalized dissatisfaction and restrictions still continue to arise. The latest Full Moon, as expected, brought out clear manifestations of Uranian force in full extent. Not only was the Beirut explosion a symbolic show of the suddenness of Uranus’ transits, but it seems to have triggered some very risky instability within the region, shaking its delicate political and religious balance. At the exact time of the explosion, Jupiter in Capricorn was rising whilst forming a tight square to Mars in Aries. This may soon prove to be linked with the rise of ideological or religious strife. Sadly, we continue to witness the brutality of the current times, yet humanity will hopefully continue to search for positive ways of facing the historical changes we are being asked to live through.
The next New Moon will occur on August 18th, at 26Leo35, in the sign which mundanely rules creative endeavors, leadership and the higher classes. All which inspires (either positively or negatively) and projects charisma is going to be focused upon. The New Moon in question will fall in conjunction with Mercury, which is likely to bring revelations, as well as increased exchange of information, into the global scene. We might even witness the unexpected fall of prominent leaders or famous individuals, during times ruled by a reorganization of governmental structures around the world. Enhanced press activity might be part of the picture, and considering the involvement of the sign Leo, this may happen in a very dramatic fashion.
Interestingly, the upcoming lunation will recall what happened in the skies in August 2017, when an important Solar Eclipse cast its own shadow across the US territory, giving rise to a typically Leonine media frenzy. Also, that eclipse had a huge resonance within astrological circles, due to its zodiacal nearness to President Trump’s natal Ascendant. Clearly, the relevant astrological message has not been fully revealed yet, as we are still within the time-frame in which the eclipsed degrees remain sensitive. Whenever important planetary configurations reactivate those degrees, new important leadership-oriented developments tend to occur. Any Solar Eclipse occurring in the “Sun-ruled” sign of Leo carries a “royal” flavor. The one in question also fell in close alignment with the star Regulus, which is traditionally associated with royalty and leadership. In fact, Leo eclipses strongly address monarchs, the higher circles, political leaders, artists or creative endeavors. The upcoming New Moon will fall close enough to the (still sensitized) eclipsed degree, forming a trine with Mars in Aries, which is currently approaching its retrogradation period. This configuration will recall the Sun-Moon-Uranus interaction which dominated that Solar Eclipse back in August 2017.
On August 18th, the New Moon will fall in the 5th House over Washington DC; this is an element which strongly emphasizes its Leonine qualities. With Mercury accompanying this particularly emphatic Soli-Lunar cycle, important information may be released, and the focus will be mainly directed towards the Government. Also, Jupiter will be angular on the local Midheaven, bringing a sense of aggrandizement into the whole situation. New large-scale issues may be visibly at hand within the country.
The lunation will start while the first of three Mars-Pluto squares will potentially rock the global financial and political balance even more deeply. Mars-Pluto squares occur roughly every two years, but what will make the upcoming ones so important is the fact that they will be accompanied by the presence of both Jupiter and Saturn in Capricorn. In other words, the rare Capricornian configuration which has been ruling the current social dismantling will be powerfully and repeatedly energized by the nervous alignment of Mars in Aries. The combination of these two forces is generally regarded as violent and enormously forceful, because it is charged with the Scorpionic essence of metamorphic change. Mars’ retrogradation will further enhance the degree of peculiarity associated with the upcoming squares, enlarging the time-frame throughout which they will act; in fact, this trend will not subside until early next year. It is clearly understandable that such a powerful Mars-Pluto interaction will potentially trigger the release of intense anger and resentment worldwide. Auspiciously, such release will serve as a way to cure society’s deepest wounds. Mythologically, we will be looking at a combination of the warrior-like assertiveness of Mars, against the persuasive and unsettling power of Pluto. In the case of the upcoming Lunar Month, both planets rule the Scorpio Descendant in Washington DC, and any trouble related to Governmental decisions will powerfully affect the country’s foreign relationships.
Also, Pluto will be Angular on the Midheaven; the presence of Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto by the local Meridian axis will strongly address issues related to the ruling party and its counterpart. That may be a clear hint to what the end of the current electoral campaign might feel like. Given the Leonine flavor which the New Moon chart carries, the focus will be directed mainly towards the incumbent President and his actions. It must be remembered that Trump represents a powerful source of Leo-oriented energy within the global scene, being born with Leo rising at 29 degrees. Mars is angular in his natal chart, a factor which is well known to be associated with his fiery approach. Regardless of political adhesion to his views, it must be said that he powerfully and naturally projects a strong charismatic influence; astrologically speaking, that is undoubtedly related to his rising sign and planet. Those elements will be strongly recalled during the upcoming lunar month, with the New Moon falling exactly in conjunction with his natal Mars, which is obviously very reactive.
Also, Venus will be at 10Cancer59, and it will thereafter cross the recently eclipsed 13th degree of Cancer/Capricorn. The latest Lunar Eclipse will receive another stimulating ray, and issues related to the Presidency, and perhaps the elections, will come to the surface again.
The next Full Moon will occur on September 2nd at 10Pisces12, in close alignment with the latest Sun-Mars synodic conjunction, which occurred last year, on September 2nd 2019. The current Sun-Mars cycle started on an angle over Washington, exactly at the local Ascendant, emphasizing the potential for social unrest as well as generalized hostility within the country over the two years to come. The upcoming Full Moon will fall over the 3rd/9th House axis, yet it will also influence the Meridian axis; this means that any news which appear during the waxing phase will culminate into matters related with governmental dynamics and foreign relationships.
The Full Moon chart shows Saturn exactly on the cusp of the 8th House, being part of a tight T-Square with Venus in Cancer in the 2nd and Mars in Aries in the 11th. This configuration does intensify the complexity of the next lunar month, suggesting that some important developments might trigger further financial and parliamentary destabilization. During the early days of September, the North Node will also cross the degree where the Moon featured in the current Cancer Solar Ingress chart. That is likely to trigger impactful developments for the country.
Looking back, a mix of nostalgia and inquietude arises within, considering the way humanity has lost even the most obvious forms of freedom and the capacity to appreciate life without any self-imposed restrictions. Something extremely meaningful is obviously there to learn at a collective level, yet we should acknowledge the fact that we are still being asked to find the new course society is to follow in a future which will hopefully turn out to be a much better one.

The global trade is being affected significantly this year. Many studies seem to suggest we are facing a new Global Recession. However, from an astrological point of view, which charts have been affected by the ongoing interaction between Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto?
These have been especially hectic days, with the global scene getting tainted with unstoppable violence. What is going on around the astrological universe during these very complex and historical times?
On July 20th a New Moon falls at 28Cancer27, in tight opposition to Saturn. This is a very important detail which denotes a remarkable amount of heavy energy around the current lunar month. Saturn is often regarded as an “ominous” presence within the zodiac, yet we need to recognize its positive qualities as well, in order to fully understand the enormous depth which characterizes its 29-year cycle. It is absolutely undeniable that whenever Saturn is involved in any astrological event, heaviness, hardships and a generalized sense of “slowdown” are perceived. It is not a case that the word “lockdown” is so popular in the year in which Saturn and Capricorn have been so prominently engaged. On the other hand, we should recognize how immediately discernible manifestations of its astrological influence are profoundly linked with conscious growth and responsibility.
By looking at the current New Moon configuration, a clear emphasis of such themes is evident. The tightness with which the Sun-Moon conjunction opposes retrograde Saturn in Capricorn is not so often reproduced in the skies. The more uncommon or tighter an aspect is, the more significance it acquires, astrologically speaking. We have already seen how the end of July gave rise to a confused “second COVID-19 wave within the first”, especially in the US. The effects of retrograde conjunctions of slow planets, such as the Jupiter-Pluto one which became exact for the second time on June 30th, are coincident with times of generalized social reassessment and ideological reorientation. The high degree of confusion, together with the new wave of social restrictions, was clearly aligned with the astrological event in question. Under such climate, we are now entering a lunar month which is profoundly characterized by a high degree of disciplined force. This could indicate that the global order, both politically and socially, might experience further reorganizations, perhaps quite evidently. An interesting feature transpires from this synodic month, as the New Moon makes a very tight opposition to taskmaster Saturn, whereas the subsequent Full Moon, which occurs on August 3rd at 11Aquarius45, creates a T-Square with Uranus in Taurus. Also, the New Moon-Saturn opposition acts over the Cardinal signs of Cancer and Capricorn, whereas the Full Moon is Aquarian and squared by its own co-ruler. What does this all mean?
In simple words, the lunar month brings the “seed” of restoration, but its culminating experience will be related to some acts of sudden destabilization. Evidently, we are still in a phase which potentially brings further uncertainty and instability in order to make enough room for a new global order. In this case, the concept of “global order” does not resonate with any conspiratorial themes, but simply to the fact that the profound shifts which society is facing are already provoking a much needed re-balancing of political, social and possibly spiritual themes as well. This might not be readily evident, unless we carefully look at the big picture, also considering the historical phase during which the powerful Capricornian awakeninghas been taking place.
Interestingly, the New Moon-Saturn opposition lies on the meridian axis over Florida, one of the regions most aggressively hit by the pandemic. Again we can observe the lack of randomness in the unfoldment of global events, as they closely reflect the prevailing astrological circumstances.
The Aquarian Full Moon which occurs on August 3rd clearly suggests a high degree of instability, as mentioned already. Also, the humanitarian crisis that is becoming so largely evident is set to be gifted with newer developments. Sectors such as the shipping industry are suffering so intensely under the ongoing wave of restrictions, which has removed any sort of fluidity from regular crew exchanges in an unprecedented manner. Thousands of seafarers still remain stuck on board all sorts of vessels waiting for the slightest hope to get back to their home countries; similarly, huge numbers of workers are waiting to get a new contract, still unable to fly out of their own countries with commercial flights.
It is worth considering the possibility of such dynamism being reflected onto the territory as well. In other words, in early August we might expect intense seismic activity, especially in the Far East, where the Sun-Moon opposition acts over the Meridian Axis, while crossing some important fault lines.
On the same day, Mars in Aries will square Jupiter in Capricorn, giving rise to great ideological zest. The revolutionary power of the upcoming Full Moon is remarkable, and it might deeply affect all those countries born in the late 1940s, when Pluto was at 10 degrees of Leo. Those nations are currently experiencing the long square of Uranus to their natal Pluto placements; mundanely, this transit can be seen as an ongoing dismemberment of deeply ingrained and power-related national dynamics. With Uranus-Pluto aspects, there is an inescapable collective need to face the unknown, and this very process inevitably leads toward a regenerative yet scary encounter with darkness.
On July 25th Mars will enter its shadow, as it crosses the 15th degree of Aries, still moving with direct motion. This means that it passes the point at which it will station direct on November 14th. Evidently, a long season characterized by a literal “reorientation of individual drive and fighting spirit” has already started. In simple words, the long retrogradation of Mars in Aries, a sign which it rules, will square the ongoing gathering of heavy planets in Capricorn, which is unmistakably linked with the unprecedented wave of social change we are currently living through.
To summarize, those whose birthdays fall near July 20th or January 20th may experience a year of increased responsibilities dominated by a generalized sense of slowdown. Limitations may be imposed by either external or inner circumstances, and the way to success will be found mainly through acceptance. Those whose natal Moon is placed around 28 degrees of Cancer or Capricorn will particularly experience such pressure at an emotional level. With the Moon ruling the basic instinctual functions of body and mind, a year of inner reorganization will help in building a solid foundation, though painful or strenuous it may feel.
The Full Moon will fall across the 12th degrees of Aquarius-Leo. Those whose birthdays fall around August 3rd or February 3rd will enter a year of important changes which mainly concern relationships. With a Full Moon being so tightly aspected by Uranus, there may also be separations. All in all, the outcome will be an unrestrained call for freedom and rational understanding. The closer either the Sun or Moon are to the degrees of the current lunar phases, the tighter the aspect in the Solar Return chart; therefore, the stronger the effect will be over the coming months.
As Mars enters its retrogradation period, important developments will hopefully bring more clarity into a poignantly confused world.
Relating to the latest article “Two Eclipses show us the Healing Path”, sudden volcanic activity has occurred in Stromboli, a small island in the Southern Tirrenian Sea. The transit of Mars over the 12th degree of Aries, in applying square to the recent Capricornian Lunar Eclipse has definitely ignited powerful geological forces, as expected. As I specified previously, more research is obviously needed on the subject. The current astrological knowledge allows us to identify the major stressing factors which are likely to determine powerful geological developments in certain areas of the globe.

Just your birth place, date and time are needed...
The months of June and July hold extraordinary power for unlocking situations which have been stuck globally. Three important eclipses are due to occur within the next weeks, and they will set the stage for the six months to come. There is evidence that eclipses, being peculiar lunations, generally reflect massive shifts in the global […]
In life everything occurs through cycles. Even if we do not realize that the circuitousness of events is actually harmonic, the underlying reality points to a series of ebbs and flows, rather than mere linearity. Through modern thought, it is perhaps much appreciated that life is a one-way journey, which returns as much as we give out in the limited time which we have at disposal. This is commonly visible in our modern way of “racing” through our existence, because we want to make the most of it. Not only does this generally manifest through our often destructive monetary greed, or through conformist relational formalization or ambitious professional achievement; perhaps, to the spiritually-oriented astrologer, these are all by-products of society’s modern-day “development“…
Let’s get deeper into the core of this issue, exactly where it becomes quite difficult, if not almost impossible, to clearly discern the boundary between what we want and what life is meant to reserve for us. It is nowadays difficult to let oneself dip into the darkness of the Unknown with faith, or at least the hope that everything unfolds in the way it should. This is not to either deny or demean the reality of suffering which often so strongly characterizes the wretchedness of human life. It seems that the very faculty which we call “intellect” can either drive us into wonderlands or underworlds. Why does the human psyche have to encounter such extremes in life? What lies beyond our discontentment or sorrow? Where does aspiration originate from? Perhaps we will never find clear answers to our questioning of the complexity and uniqueness of the human realm, yet a deeper truth seems to have emerged since immemorial times. This relates to the fact that there is strong evidence of our individual nature being linked to more grandiose realities, which we might normally consider insignificantly distant and unconnected. Spiritual awareness resides where understanding of such intrinsic grandeur emerges. If there is a blueprint to individual and collective life, what does it consist of? Who has decided its form, and where has it been planned? Again, these questions might take us nowhere at all, because they simply represent a human attempt at “rationalizing” the irrational mysteriousness of life. Perhaps we should just say that intrinsic purpose is at the basis of everything which occurs within and without the human being. There is often excessive identification with “events” as if we were entities who navigate the stormy seas of “outer life”, battered by enormous waves which constantly endanger our inner and outer balance. This is only partially true and it remains a mere perception of reality, in my humble opinion. Through years of astrological research and self-exploration, a journey which I only consider to be at its very beginning, I have understood that even the most painful of experiences comes for a reason. I have been searching for an explanation to that reason in the immensity of the cosmos, but there are many ways of doing so. The key here is to understand which way is the most suitable to us for the purpose of searching for a “code of life“. We might think of this as a “de-codification process” or “spiritual research”, yet it just remains a mere human attempt at understanding something which goes way beyond our rational grasp. Though science has been trying to prove everything through “deterministic” methods, we are now approaching a time in history which faces us with a pressing issue: the cause-effect link seems to break apart when we get closer to the “bigger picture” of life. The long-term trends of individual or collective existence do not respond to clear determinism, and so it is for what we would call “fatality” in personal, day-to-day life.
Beyond the threshold of time…
Is there a reason for those most unpleasant stories which unfold in so many people’s lives? Ancient civilizations, and perhaps many people still do the same nowadays, have traditionally found self-assurance in the possibility that “cursing” or even “bad karma” might have the potential to impede the harmonious flow of life. If we step beyond any belief, and try to look at it from a purely humanistic perspective, we might just need to say that we do not know for certain whether past lives exist, and it might be more accessible and perhaps useful for the modern-day individual to explore familial or societal dynamics in order to understand a lot about himself. I would like to give you an example. Let’s take the current year in consideration, because of the intensity of pain, sorrow, restriction, difficulty and darkness which have been tackling society at large. Those mothers who are due to give birth soon, therefore with their babies being “incarnated” during these months, are experiencing their pregnancies at a historical phase for humanity as a whole. The same obviously applies to those who have given birth in the previous months, since January 2020. Those children who are to be born soon (or who are just a few weeks or months old), despite any deterministic attempt at denying such, will definitely carry a powerful psychological, energetic, sociological imprint of these times within themselves. For instance, if the Moon will be placed in one of the four Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn) at the time of birth, they will be born to mothers who have been the most deeply affected by the current situation. This may involve a myriad of factors the entire enlisting of which would be pointless in this article, if not impossible. This consideration about the Cardinal Moon refers to the fact that it will be forming “hard aspects” with the ongoing Saturn-Jupiter-Pluto congregation in Capricorn. Even if Saturn has taken a quick trip into early Aquarius, it will be back into Capricorn soon, reinforcing the still ongoing dismantling process. If the child is born with such a personalized connection with the ongoing slow-planetary configuration, such as that of the Moon aspecting the relevant planets, his or her long-term emotional life will be strongly connected to the ongoing influence. Yes, for some mysterious reason, birth occurs under a space-time configuration (birthplace and birthtime) which uniquely carries planetary placements and configurations which are accurately in resonance with the child’s personal identity. What is important to understand here is that this connection occurs at the level of meaning, therefore symbolically and not factually. If the child is born when the Moon was transiting just past the ongoing Jupiter-Pluto conjunction for example, astrologers of the future would very accurately retrace a specific “event” or “situation”, most probably dramatic and intense, in the mother-child relationship during the pregnancy. This relates to the “secondary regression” of the Moon; which is about retrograding the Moon’s position in the personal horoscope by a degree for each month prior to birth, as if time were running backwards. There is strong evidence in astrology about the cyclicity of time, which in this particular instance translates into an all-out, invertible resonance between time cycles such as a year, a month, a day, and hour and so on. This is a very complex and vast subject, but it remains equally fascinating to the spiritually-oriented individual who is keen on exploring the depths of life. This fascinating, yet very basic example takes us beyond the “determinism” of nowadays science. This is not to undermine the importance and respectability of scientific thought, which has allowed us to elevate our knowledge of the world we live in; the question here is whether we know everything about the causality of life or not…
A “synchronized” universe…
Many scientists are keen to explore what is being perceived as “synchronicity” all around the universe. In quantum physics, phenomena which still remain rationally unexplained are observed, and it is worth citing the work of David Bohm, who managed to reintroduce philosophical and mystical thought in an increasingly determinism-oriented scientific community. His fascinating approach includes the individuation of a “universal flux“, which is often referred to as “holomovement“. He formulated ideas of an Implicate Order and an Explicate Order. In 1980 he published his most famous book called “Wholeness and the Implicate Order“.
In Bohm’s work we encounter important glimpses into the intrinsic correlation between seemingly unrelated elements, with such interaction crossing beyond the realm of physical manifestation. For millennia the spiritual world has been aware of the intricate reality of life, yet it has mainly approached this concept on an instinctual level. In fact, I am quite inclined to believe that humans – and perhaps all other living beings are even more open to this – possess an innate capacity to instinctively perceive synchronism. This could be understood as humans, who belong to the explicate order of things, being instinctively able to tap into the implicate order of the Greater Whole of Existence“.
Our perceptions are often overshadowed by the business of life, which can be both distracting and unfriendly towards any attempt at savoring the underlying beauty of Creation. If you get a feeling that everything is going to be well, even if the current events are being quite disastrous, you may have just witnessed an inner manifestation of your connection with the cosmic Oneness in instinctual, or mental form. If you get chills when you visit Ground Zero at Lower Manhattan you are perhaps connecting with the same invisible, unquantifiable, immeasurable force. It would perhaps be too easy or reductive to connect the chills with mere psychological suggestion; it could obviously be the case, but the nature of such “suggestion” would be psychic indeed.
These correlations, as already specified, can be traced via the astrological analysis of the skies, which easily individuates the recurrence of specific dynamics in accordance with the cyclicity of planetary movements. Every time a specific planetary configuration appears in the skies – by relative motion because we are observers placed on Earth – something happens, but not necessarily in the world of “form”. The shift definitely occurs at a subtle level, in a realm where “feelings” dominate, both individually and collectively. For a while, this year’s alignment of slow-moving planets in Capricorn has been seen by astrologers as a sign of upcoming change. It has been evident that both the most pleasant and unpleasant features of Capricorn would reemerge this year, and that we would need to deal with the “heaviness and stucture” of this Earthy sign. Capricorn’s force relates to method, ambition and responsibility, but the more negative side of its power presents us with fears, restrictions and oftentimes oppression. It is worth referring to the image of mythological Kronos, whom we generally prefer to call Saturn (Roman nomenclature), to better understand the immense level of psychic force being liberated right now all around the world and in every speck of society. Saturn rules Capricorn, therefore its essential meaning is being called to action, throughout a whole year when Saturn, Jupiter and Pluto are to make single or repeated conjunctions with one another. If tyrannical measures, oppression, fear, depression, darkness, hopelessness, sorrow and despair were to emerge this year, was it “written” somewhere that this “inescapable” set of circumstances would need to be met? Perhaps yes, or maybe not; this is not important, anyway.
A much deeper transition is being made these days, and it will represent a thorough transformation of humanity’s most basic structures. Despite the difficulty, we should perhaps try and find ways to embrace change, every single day fighting to find the light of reason during a seemingly endless struggle which will definitely have an end, and a prosperous one. Hopefully we will all reemerge wiser, more considerate and desirous of life.
